Hi, I am new to this forum.

Just closed a lease deal today in South bay

2014 Nissan LEAF S with Quick Charger

State: CA
City: San Jose
3 yrs with 12K miles/yr
4K down, 155 monthly

Is this a good deal?

that much down on a lease is something that will not go over well on this forum. what was your money factor? that is more pertinent towards deciding whether this deal is good or not. if your money factor is high, then a larger down payment is understandable. if its low, then the large downpayment is not recommended. how much is the rent charge for the term of the lease?

Quote details

Model--S w QC
Location --San Francisco Bay Area
Drive off--$0
Miles --15k/yr
Lease term-- 3yrs
Monthly --$229 + tax

Good deal?

Good deal?

better deal than I had.

mine 13 S with Qc/mudflaps/floor mats. all the rest the same, $245 a month (no sales tax on EVs here) but mine was VPP discount thru work plus $1000 loyalty cash.

my first car did not have mudflaps. that was a HUGE mistake.

Thanks Guys!

I got a better deal now on S and got a quote on SV too. I'm confused which one to go with, I'm getting VPP discount.

Location--San Francisco bay Area
Option A--S with quick charger, $0drive off 15k miles/yr, $215/mon +tax, Sale Price $26700
Option B--SV with Premium package but no quick charger, $0drive off 15k miles/yr, $256/mon +tax, Sale Price $29300

I really like SV with backup and side cameras but not sure how important quick charger is, since SV doesn't have that.

Thoughts?

really dependent on your driving need but i would NEVER consider a LEAF without it

How's is this quote?

2014 LEAFZ SV
Led/Quick Charge

36 months
12,000 miles a year
2000 due (includes first month)

$240 before taxes

Haven't got the numbers behind that.

Did that involve any further discounts like VPP? I'm in Modesto so driving to SF Bay Area is possible. Do you mind posting or messaging me some details about your price and where?

Yes, it includes VPP discount and I got it at Hayward Nissan.

Ah, lol, this is where my quote is from too. So, since I can't get the VPP $1000 off, would your quote basically be $1000 due for $253 a month with 15k miles a year?

Their TrueCar price is quoting at least $4k off msrp. With the $8200 cashback incentive, the lease should be a even a hair bit better. But I find understanding lease quotes confusing.

If I use NissanUsa.com payment estimator for SV with QC, set the lease to 36 months, 15k a year, put 8200 incentive as down, plus another $4k for the dealer discount, it shows $250 a month. I figure using the payment estimator like that is not accurate?

This is a good deal. I have the same model with a 15k mi lease, I put down $700 less and my before taxes were about $262. According to a lease calculator, if I would have matched your $2000 down payment, I would be at $243 before taxes, so this deal is equivalent to the end-of-year lease deal I got on a 2013 model in January of 2014.

Did this deal involve $1,000 loyalty cash? If it did, it's a good deal. If there was no loyalty cash at play, it's almost too good to be true.

Thanks for the feedback, $240 is a decent price, though, I'm waiting on details, such as the residual, money factor, etc. I emailed the sales rep early on the 16th for that, but haven't heard back as of this morning on the 18th. I seem to have the worst luck with email communication to all dealers of all brands. Still considering buying with the current deals. With a TrueCar price guaranteed certificate 74 miles away, which includes $2500 NMAC Cash, shows an estimated $7,096 savings off MSRP for an SV with Quick Charge and Premium, plus a few accessories. Combined with $13k in rebates/credits for my area, that makes it around $16,184 for a well equipped LEAF. Compare that with the $15k I still owe on my Mustang, I think I'd rather have the LEAF long run with the added fuel savings. Also, insurance for LEAF is $20 more a month when leased compared to financed, so I have to consider that cost too.

For leasing, I'm hoping I can still get a decent price with less down, like $999, or simply go zero down. Any cash would come from my trade-in, but I may be better off simply selling my Mustang (2012 V6 Premium Auto) privately. If I can get $18k for trade-in with $15k owed, I'd accept it to save time, else I could probably sell it privately for $19-20k.

How does this deal look on an SL/Premium? Got dealer to match TrueCar quote. 3K down / $315 per month / includes taxes. Will get $2500 California tax rebate in the mail later in the year.

My question is this: Isn't Nissan offering an $8200 NMAC rebate? Seems this dealer only quoted $7500.

I was told the $8200 is for purchase only, if leasing you only get the $7500.

I have a question for the group here. I'm trying to help a friend lease a LEAF, she's getting VPP discount

Waiting for quotes to arrive for an S with and without the quick charge package.

But I'm trying to figure out why people are paying over $200/month + tax with a $0 down S, when the chart on the first post says $162/month.

Can someone elaborate? Do you have to have 100% perfect credit to get the $162 price?

just the opposite. most of that is the $7500 fed tax adj. so if you are buying, you are solely responsible to get that and you may not get all that. Leasing, Nissan takes that burden off your hands so that is where MOST of it comes from. seems to me, the poster got $10,500 and not $8200 but may have read that wrong...

I double checked with the dealer. 7500 NMAC only. So the deal is:

State : CA
Sales tax 7.75%
Leaf Trim, options : 2014 SL / Premium / Holographic Kick Plates / Splash Guards
MSRP : $37,370.00
Invoice : $35,246
Negotiated Price : $33,401
Taxes, Title, Registration : included in down payment of 3K
Any other fees: included in down payment of 3K
Money Factor : 00068
Downpayment : $3000
Monthly payment : $291.74 for 35 months
Total Monthly payment with taxes: $315.08 for 35 months
15K miles per year
Qualifies for $2500 California CARB cash back rebate - mailed back to me.

Any suggestion of whether to buy the 3y maintains when you leasing a leaf, and included into the monly payment? I was told it prices $799, but I believe it could be lower.
