Hello all. I did search for this topic but could not find a previous thread about this issue.

I have a 2015 Nissan Leaf S model. I’m wondering if it’s possible to change out the S model radio for the SV touch screen/navigation radio so that I am able to use carwings and control things from my iPhone. Thanks for any help or guidance.

No, it is not possible. If you want the remote control features, you will have to upgrade to an SV or SL model Leaf.

Thanks. I’m not sure why a change out wouldn’t work? I may go to a dealer or audio specialist and see if it can be done. If not, I wonder if an aftermarket navigation type radio would work?

You can likely replace the Nissan S radio with an aftermarket unit that has more features (including navigation and touch screen), but you will not be able to add the remote functions that SV and SL models have through EV Connect (CarWings) because those functions require the telematics unit with a lifetime Nissan subscription which comes with the car. The software that makes it all work together is embedded in various modules in the car. Modules in the S are either nonexistent or different from the ones in the SV and SL.
