What appears to be a "Wardenclyffe Tower" was erected in Texas about a year and a half ago in the small town of Milford. It has apparently been erected by a startup company called Viziv Technologies. They claim that they are applying the 1907 work of Jonathan Zenneck by creating a tower which will launch the transmission line mode of Zenneck wave without creating any radiation. The idea is that electrical power can be transmitted wirelessly anywhere in the world from such a tower (and to such a tower, I suppose).

Here is a video with some videos of the tower and discussion of Tesla, etc.

Apparently the theory behind this is controversial and has been debated for over 100 years, but this certainly is an interesting development!

Interesting? Another folly to be demolished for scrap when they can't make the mortgage? About as interesting in someone's ideas about a flat Earth. Go up Pikes Peak, you can see the curvature for yourself. Controversial? Ah yes, another trisection of an angle.

Perhaps, but no one should discount the work of Tesla lightly. Many have said that his ideas will not work, but they were proven wrong time and again.
