Just noticed today that the above show is available on Netflix streaming in the US. These eps I watched were when CNN was still airing them. Discussion at http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?t=519591. I watched The Space Race (and I think I enjoyed it). As I posted at http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?p=10238463#post10238463:

World on the Brink, JFK assassination, Vietnam War and Long March to Freedom eps were pretty good.

I watched a bit of TV Comes of Age and didn't really like it much, so I switched to another ep. Maybe it's because I didn't watch most of those TV shows. So, that's the weakest ep for me, by far.

I learned quite a bit from the eps I listed and watched in their entirety. It sure beats what I vaguely remember from US history class ages ago.

Started watching it. the TV episode could have been better since I actually did see most of them (in reruns anyway) but then again, it was still a big part of the decade as was the music and follows the same format as the 70's series.

But its all about priorities which makes it stranger because some were double length episodes so time constraints seemed to be less of an issue. in the 70's series, the primary mention about the music was a one liner stating that the English had voted Led Zeppelin the #1 rock band of all time over the Beatles. Sadly much more time was spent talking about disco...

I or someone should start others threads for The Seventies and The Eighties series also done by CNN.

I didn't realize the latter had already begun airing.

yep therein lies a netflix issue about searches. I saw the "70's" series a few weeks ago and really liked it so did a search for similar and didn't find the "60's" show.

So when you mentioned it, I did a search using "60's" and got nothing but "70's" brought up the "Seventies" series. I had to search with "Sixties" to find the show...
