For BMW at East Boston fire scene, blocking hydrant proves costly:

Possibly a common failing among Bimmer drivers...

BMW drivers know the odds of a fire breaking out is one in a million, the rest of the time they're getting a convenient parking space. So what if they get a ticket, they know how to get it "fixed". These people probably got new cars paid for by insurance. Maybe even sue the city on some BS charge and collect extra money. They aren't so dumb.

I posted this story on another board and someone brought up an incident in Boston that I wasn't aware of...

^ Yeah that was a thing. THK had a fire hydrant moved. Left, right, same sh*t, different day.
Based on the article it doesn't sound like political pressure was the key element, but rather the fact that they paid to have the work done and the fire hydrant was moved to a place that wasn't blocking anyone else. The issue is that those with plenty of money can afford to make these kinds of changes, while the common man cannot.

You know those firefighters start to drool when they pull up to a fire and see a hydrant parked in. When it's a BMW - it must turn to pure glee to have the excuse to knock out the windows and run a hose through the car. Some days the job just brings a bonus.
