Apparently, professional racers have started cheating, with tiny motors in their hubs. Countermeasures are underway, and the tech is starting to trickle down to the rest of us.

There is already an e-bike topic here. Let me look...here it is. Too few people think of search engines when they name topics.

Thanks, I knew something was out there (hell, I made the second post in that topic), but I couldn't remember the title, and my search attempts using 'electric bikes', 'electric bicycles' and 'e-bikes' using topic titles only failed to come up with anything, and searching message texts as well just made too long a list of unrelated topics. I'll now transfer my previous post to that topic, and delete this one if possible. But it would help if the name of the other topic were changed.
