Does anyone know what the status is of Nissan's E-NV200?

Is it coming to the states? And if so when?

Will come when system with next gen batteries are available. Perhaps Nissan decided that there wasn't much of a demand for a mini-van with top speed of 76 mph and shorter range than Leaf.

Given the size of the minivan I don't understand why they didn't double the size of the pack. Now *that* would be a popular EV.

However, I suspect the other problem is that the passenger version of the NV-200 would do poorly on US crash tests, which is why only the cargo version is available here.

Moderators, is this the defacto official E-NV200 thread?

Last I heard was before AP left Nissan:

...After years of anticipation and build-up to this summer/fall’s release, it sounds like Nissan is getting cold feet about the electric van market in North America.

In a recent article on Automotive News, Nissan’s Cheif Planning Officer Andy Palmer said the e-NV200 is undergoing trial runs with US and Canadian fleet customers.

“The question is the distance and, of course, the charging infrastructure. We still think it’s appropriate, but we haven’t made a decision yet whether to go with the e-NV.”

According to Palmer, initial introductions in Europe and Japan make more sense because of the shorter runs that delivery trucks typically make, and Japan has a well-developed charging infrastructure...

Thanks for input. When I started this thread I had not thought about making it the defacto e-nv200 thread, however, it can be :D

Actually I meant the 6 page thread I posted.

There are also several other threads, which IMO, could all be merged in an "official" thread.

Nissan happily announced two wins in the Greenfleet Awards 2014 in Warwickshire for the e-NV200 electric van.

The first one was the Industry Innovation of the Year.

The second one – the Outstanding Achievement award – was for the partnership between Nissan, British Gas and Hitachi Capital Commercial Vehicle Solutions in a successful tri-party pilot of the e-NV200 on the British Gas fleet.

Isn't e-NV200 cargo van the best choice for USPS for the next-gen mail delivery vehicles?
The USPS is planning on a future of delivering more packages and fewer letters, so it is requesting bids for a vehicle with greater capacity than the E-NV200.

As reported below:

Here is a summary of requirements:

1. 2WD with optional 4WD
2. Automatic transmission with traction control
3. Fully enclosed van body with integral cab and cargo compartment constructed with aluminum or composite material with a sliding driver door and a separate cargo area side door
4. Driver side airbag
5. Driver seat with horizontal/vertical/lumbar adjustments
6. Minimum cargo capacity of 1,500 lbs
7. Rear camera with monitor
8. Compliance with FMVSS and 50 state emission
9. Minimum Ground clearance 7.3"
10. Minimum Mail storage volume 155 cubic ft
11. Minimum Rear door opening W x H 48.5" x 72"
12. Maximum Driver window sill height above ground 44"
13. Minimum width between wheelhouse 48"
14. Maximum length 230"
15. Maximum height 106"
16. Maximum width excluding mirror 85"
17. Load floor height 26" ~ 28"
18. Minimum flat cargo area W x L 72" x 108"...

I hope Nissan does decide to produce a BEV or BEVx prototype and bid, but it will have to be with a vehicle larger than the E-NV200.

The @NissanElectric keeps tweeting about the eNV200.

That has to mean something, right?
