I'm quite comfortable driving by the number of bars, so I don't think it will be much use to me on a daily basis. But I do think that I can use it to look for reduced pack capacity as it ages. I figure that I'll see a GID or two go away long before I see the first bar go away.

All this was prompted by coming up on 15k miles and thinking about the battery pack health check coming up. By the way, I learned that the manual clearly says the check is every 12 months, regardless of miles. (3 more months to wait...:)
 
I actually use it as much for the other features as I do for SOC... With some of the additions that Gary is considering for future software release, I expect that will be the case even more so...
