I'm gonna call them and see how much their Leaf Exhaust pipe costs. It's always good to have an extra one, since the Leaf is really hard on exhaust pipes.

Might as well pick up an Engine Cylinder Head while you're at it.

It's also funny to look at the multi-point inspection when you take your car to the dealership.

Fuel Tank Cap Gasket... CHECKED AND OKAY
Engine Oil... CHECKED AND OKAY
Muffler / Exhaust Pipes / Mountings... CHECKED AND OKAY
Engine Air Filter... CHECKED AND OKAY

How do things that don't exist get checked, and how to do they get a pass result.

They are obviously checking for their lack of existence...
If you'd had any of those, it would have failed..

When I was at the dealership taking delivery of my Leaf the finance department asked if I wanted to purchase the maintenance package. I asked what that included and they told me oil changes. It was all I could do to not laugh in their face.

Stealerships have nothing on PT Barnum!

I dunno - it aint any dumber than Nissan sending me coupons for oil changes.
.

When I show the Leaf at the local farmers market for a dealer friend of mine, I have fun offering to the kids a dollar to anyone who can find the exhaust pipe.

It gets them..and..their parents really involved.

Who knows, by this simple act, how many more will choose an electric car for their next car.

Hopefully it will be a Leaf and they will buy it from my friend's dealership as this is where his heart is.

Catalog listings are usually annoying but sometimes they can be surprisingly informative. I remember, several decades ago, searching for parts for an old Volvo 122 S. The JC Whitney catalog had listings for all sorts of model for variations like the 121 and 123, not to mention the P220; I had thought that these were just made up listings for some reason but they turned out to be actual sub-models of the same car...
