SD Card slot

Does anyone know what the empty SD card slot is for behind the NAV display?

I tries inserting a blank card in it and it wasn't recognized by the unit.

I've rummaged through the owners manual, even asked the dealer - but no one seems to know the use for the extra SD slot.

It can be used for applying software updates...By the dealer....
