I can't figure out how the numbers work in this case. I am using the calculator at http://www.edmunds.com/calculators/car-lease.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. The promotion I am trying to validate is http://www.nissanusa.com/buildyournissan/variant/index?tt=13975421928511072127" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; The reason I am trying to understand these number is because none of the dealers I contacted have bare base model, they have some additional package that increases the price from 28,980 to 29,450 (for example). With that they quote numbers that are obviously more than 1999 down 199 per month. I was hoping to get equivalent numbers to get good idea how to negotiate.

Summary as follows:

$199 Per Month Lease
For 36 Months
$1999 initial payment
Excludes taxes, title, and license. For well-qualified lessees.

Excludes taxes, title, and license. $1,999 initial payment required at consummation. (Includes $1,800 consumer down payment, $199 first month payment.) (INCLUDES $8,200 manufacturer's rebate applied to $199/Month lease. Offer valid only when financed through Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation.) Subject to residency restrictions.

2014 LEAF S Lease model 17014 subject to availability to well-qualified lessees through Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation. $29,830 MSRP incl. destination charge. Net capitalized cost of $19,402 includes a $595 non-refundable acquisition fee. Dealer contribution may affect actual price set by dealer. Monthly payments total $7,164 At lease end, purchase for $12,827, plus purchase option fee up to $300 (except KS & WI), plus tax, or pay excess wear & use plus $0.15 per mile for mileage over 12,000 miles per year. Lessee is responsible for maintenance and repairs. A disposition fee is due at termination of lease term. No security deposit required. Must take delivery from new dealer stock. See participating dealer for details. Offer ends 04/30/2014.

Please help me understand this. Thanks.

Well, the Nissan fine print does not have all the info to just plug it in and cross check it. You are missing the money factor. You have the cap cost of $19402 which you will need to add state sales tax and registration fees. You also have the residual value of $12872 (don't add anything to that) and finally you know the duration of the lease. You will have to guess at the money factor. I'm guessing it's around .00055 or 1.3%

Just landed a great lease deal on a 2014 SL Premium Package.
$2,000 drive off - 24-month - 12K miles/yr - .00170 Money Factor - 57% Residual

($8200. Nissan Lease Rebate & $1,000 Leaf Owner Loyality)
$246.69 with tax.

This looks great - what is the $11,000 "DRIVE OFF" then? Is that before credits applied?
