Discuss the show or your favorite segments of http://science.discovery.com/tv-shows/how-do-they-do-it" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; here.

Looks like Science Channel is having a huge marathon of eps on 12/31/12, starting at 3 am Pacific. I figure some topics presented might of interest to folks here. I have a season pass for it on my TiVo and normally set to keep the last 4 or 5 eps.

There are way too many eps and I have only seen a fraction of them. Long ago watched an segment about how they prepare fugu (poisonous Japanese blowfish). Its was actually somewhat interesting since about the only prior knowledge I had was from a Simpsons ep.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBxdsv9THH8" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; is a clip but doesn't go into how they catch them, how the fugu will fight each other in a tank (so the fisherman has to remove their teeth), the market or how much poison it takes to kill a customer. They also left out the part where the chef said he'd been practicing every day for five years to get his license. They'd also mentioned each fish can be sold for >$300 each. They person narrating is also totally different than the ep I saw. I doubt this version was meant for the US market.

While glancing thru the fugu Wikipedia entry, I found a link to http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/ngm/0505/feature1/multimedia3.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; w/some of the crazy facts.
