Just noticed this feature on the chargepoint page (I don't know how long it's been there, maybe I've just missed it for too long), will try to fill it in later from my point of view:

http://www.chargepoint.com/request" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Been there forever, and I wish you success in getting charging stations added where you'd like. None of the ones I suggested around three years ago on major recreational routes around the Bay Area ever appeared, but maybe you'll have better success.

Yep. Been there forever.... I'm not surprised about the above. Chargepoint won't own the stations. They'd be trying to pitch someone else to pay for the stations and subscription fees. Imagine if you were a property owner receiving such a pitch and didn't care.

Thanks for the info. My sense has been that these individual line-item suggestion areas are not ideal. For one thing, good ideas can tend to get sort of black-holed or obscured.

I've been suggesting more recently that one of the industry stakeholders (or perhaps one of the drivers or advocates here on MNL or one of the NGO's) set up a page where drivers in the US and around the world can do a map-based voting process. I think such a page would be a useful focal point for drivers like myself who not only want to request a station, but want the request to stand and be seen, and maybe seconded by others, and not just kind of buried on an obscure list somewhere.

I tried to contact one or two of the independent mapping web pages to make my suggestion directly, but I don't remember being able to get very far on this.
