    I-Key System Fault

Thanks. I’ll try to create an itemized list of the relays in the various boxes they’re in, to identify how many different types there are. I suspect it’s the ignition relay which I think is in the big box above the 12v battery. I might get one of each type to have on hand.

    I-Key System Fault

Thank you. Do you have a link or part number for the relay? I’ve gone 3 days with no issues, but once something starts to it’s only a matter of time. I’ve found a few good looking relay pullers for sale under $10.

    I-Key System Fault

Another old post I found on here suggests it might be the shift. But with the clunking sound on start up, I think it’s more likely a relay wearing out. But on looking at the DTCs more closely, maybe it is the shift, though don’t see why, except one post showed someone disassembling it and found...

    I-Key System Fault

I-Key system fault. I’ve gotten this message twice now in the past month in my 2015 S. The first, a couple weeks ago, occurred halfway through the start up jingle, with a clunk under the hood. The second, just yesterday, but I didn’t notice any sound due to ambient noise. Both times was over 90...

    Car dies while driving

Just had a similar experience. Car died on a city street. Lots of warning lights and messages to pull over and press the emergency brake. 2015 S, 43k miles, 12 bars (87% SOH), central MA. But it’s my own fault. I bought it used a year ago and I knew the battery was old, the original as far as I...

jeffN, thanks, very interesting. So, can I use my EVgo card at an EA station?

    Electrify America Network

Sorry if this has been asked already, but lately I’ve noticed some EVgo stations have been co-branded with Electrify America stickers. Haven’t found out yet if they’re merging or what. Anyone know?

    Honda Urban EV

Production set for Europe and Japan only. Not North America. Surprised they’re doing any more BEVs, thought they want fuel cells.

What if car buyers aren't ready for electric cars, even in California?

I’d guess one, two plug work L2 could handle 4 employees per shift, on average. But for the last 5 years it’s just been me and the security service C-Max. Guess I can’t complain, I can stay plugged in and charge 8 hours and no one cares. The other plug is available as security charges up at...

What if car buyers aren't ready for electric cars, even in California?

Well, I hope you’re right. I’m not seeing much growth here in New England. The majority are satisfied with their well performing, large selection of ICEVs. Cheap gas is just a bonus. We have a free L2 at work, and still, over 500 employees have no interest. They like what they’re used to. EVs...

Cheap gas doesn’t help. If it was $8-10/gal ICEVs would fade.

Why the LEAF Gen 2 and not the 220 miles Tesla Model 3?

By next year, Leaf will be pretty close to the 3. https://electrek.co/2018/01/04/nissan-leaf-2019-specs-range-charging/ Range, charging speed, TMS. Now if only they roll out a van or a pickup.

    End of Lease Strategies?

I got an unexpected parting gift from Nissan. I did the extension and got the 3 free months, and after the reveal, opted to end the lease and Bolt. I called to double check something. There’s a clause in the original lease contract that ending early requires 30 days written notice, and I needed...

Republican tax proposal will terminate $7,500 EV tax credit

So, the existing credit, as enacted, applies equally to all manufacturers, a level playing field. It’s the OEMs strategies that varied, each with their own risk profile. The early leaders are nearing phase out, but have gained vast real usage mega data, brand recognition, benefits of scale, and...
