Sadly we have no choice in the matter .....All Leafs will eventually need their batteries change even if they are worth just $5000 ...I own a 2011 that is a few months away from needing a 3rd battery ....

I'm watching this thread closely .....I will need my 3rd battery in the next couple of months and hoping for some kind of deal to pop up ....

I'm averaging 6.6 miles per kilowatt and down to 7 bars ....I average 65-70 miles per charge now....I figure @ 6 bars it will be time to buy a new battery, the 3rd for the car ....I believe currently it will cost $6k for a new battery, but hoping for another price drop soon ....

2009 original owner .....I used the heat once and never used it again ....It helps living in Phx AZ and wearing a coat in the winter while driving @ night ...

I drove mine 55 miles a day in Phx AZ and still loss 4 bars @ 26000 miles ...I would charge it every 2 days ... 6.5 M/KW ...

I picked up the car in May 2011 58000 miles 6.5 M/KW .....I drive the car really slow now thanks to another battery degradation ...

I'm totally confused here ....I'm sitting on a 2nd battery that has loss 4 bars ....Am I looking @ paying $6000 or $1800 for a 3rd battery ?

April of 2011 in Phx AZ ........58000 miles ....2nd battery has loss 4 bars .....Main battery and headlight replaced .....I bought the car based on a You Tube video by Nissan that said the Leaf would lose 10% of its battery capacity after 100,000 miles .... LOL in how wrong they were ...

Was the backup camera a option in the 2011 ? It came with the car new and I really love the camera ....

I think I was one of the first to get the battery replacement here in AZ back in 2013 for my 5/2011 Leaf ....Here it is 2016 and I'm approaching 50K miles and minus 3 bars on 2nd battery ......I would imagine that by Oct I hit the minus 4 bars .... Was the battery warranty program for 5 years...

I always leave the house with enough battery reserve, but last week I drove up North around 23 ave from 151 ave to a Lowes that had some frost free pots that were discontinued ....When I exited the store late that night the road was closed down that I drove down from for construction ...

We have the extended warranty ..... Im not saying buy it, but Leaf parts are very expensive .... We had a headlight go out last year .....I was told parts and labor were close to $1000.00 ..... @ that time I was told only 5 headlights had failed in Leafs .....

I was the last one to reply to that Seeking Alpha article ...... I never did get a answer ..........I do not think a lot of people realized that all those Ecotality chargers belonged to the government and Ecotality was just badly managing them ......

Dave I love the car ...... I have about 5000 miles on the new pack with about 3% loss of capacity after that grueling hot summer .......Im trying to time it so I get one more new pack before the warranty goes out on it ......

I see where the company the bought all the rights to manage the Ecotality chargers are having their own money problems ......They just issued a secondary that was bought by a private company .......They are still losing millions of dollars each year .....They own a lot of chargers in the Florida...
