I usually never use the auto-release, but noticed today when pulling out of garage that it only works when your seat belt is buckled. It may be blocked with any dash warnings, but the seat belt was the only one I had to play with.

Anybody know what the overhead energy usage of the main drive inverter is? I mean if I turn the car on (drive mode, not accessory mode) and let it sit in park with the inverter humming along, how long will the battery last?

They may be acceptable for some people, but IMO they suck. Not only is the cornering/handling mediocre (some people don't care about this understandably), but they are very fragile. Two people on the forum already destroyed tires in potholes. I just destroyed the sidewall [gently] on a curb...

Even after telling them that my car was electric, most friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers have asked if my Leaf uses any gas. One guy thought the quick charge port was a gas filler neck. Everyone has been very surprised to hear it's electric only. I suspect that even if Nissan steps up...
