The gas engine in the Volt would never kick in for me. I could not see dragging a gas engine around that would never be used.

I am not sure when the last state will be allowed to place reservations, but in Missouri Nissan has said it will be as early as March 16th. I assume all the remaining 21 states will be allowed by the end of March like Nissan has said.

I have been waiting from day 1 as well. I am thinking maybe I might as well wait for the 2013 to see if the 6.6 kw charger is real.

According to Jocelyn Cash at Nissan we are not quite at the point where everyone can order a LEAF. "all remaining United States will be able to reserve and place their order for the Nissan LEAF effective 3/12/2012."
