    LEAFs in St. Louis, Missouri?

I have been following EVs since the EV1. I followed the iMiev and the LEAF before they had a name for it. When I heard Nissan was taking reservations for the LEAF I called Nissan and paid for a reservation even though Nissan was not taking reservations for our area yet. I was one of the first...

Why Did You Choose the Nissan Leaf over the Chevy Volt?

The gas engine in the Volt would never kick in for me. I could not see dragging a gas engine around that would never be used.

50 states Leaf purchase - OPEN TO ALL

I am not sure when the last state will be allowed to place reservations, but in Missouri Nissan has said it will be as early as March 16th. I assume all the remaining 21 states will be allowed by the end of March like Nissan has said.

50 states Leaf purchase - OPEN TO ALL

I have been waiting from day 1 as well. I am thinking maybe I might as well wait for the 2013 to see if the 6.6 kw charger is real.

50 states Leaf purchase - OPEN TO ALL

According to Jocelyn Cash at Nissan we are not quite at the point where everyone can order a LEAF. "all remaining United States will be able to reserve and place their order for the Nissan LEAF effective 3/12/2012."

Poll : How old are you - Take II

First thanks for putting so many ranges out there. I am usually in the last or second to last age range so I feel much younger. I was 46 when I put down the deposit and hope to be only 48 when I order and 49 when I finally get one. At this point with all the waiting I am thinking that...

50 states Leaf purchase - OPEN TO ALL

At least two dealers in my state, which is in the last 21 states, have bought orphans off of ebay from the roll out states. They have had them to test drive. One is a 2011 with no winter package, which seems bad in St. Louis. The dealer did not know about the 2012 having the package. All the...

wasting money on 30 amp units ??

I don't think Nissan can admit to having a 6.6kw charger on the 2013. Anyone ordering in the near term might orphan their car to get a 2013 and sales of 2012 might suffer. I think it is a matter of people opting for the 6.6 charger even if they do not need one. I personally drive about 10-12...

    Tier 4 orders now opening

I think the orphans in the roll out states might be the best choice depending on the dealers in your area. I have seen orphans selling at $2000 below MSRP which acording to the dealers near me might be my best chance. I am looking into shipping cost. The only problem is getting the money. They...

    Tier 4 orders now opening

I am in Missouri which I think must be tier 30 or something. I heard from the dealer that they are letting the early hand raisers like me order in May. So much for being one of the first 6,000 to reserve their place in line with a deposit. I might have jumped the gun on the reservation. I had...

Is the Leaf right for my lifestyle, opinion POV

I am wondering if the LEAF would work for me as well. I drive less then 10 miles at about 35- 40 mph on most days There would be up to 3-4 stops during that trip so it would not be ideal. There are some days that I will drive as much as 20 miles and about 5 of those will be highway (up to 60...

July 27 Nissan email: the Nissan LEAF: get ready to order

I see rental fleets will get the LEAF before the early hand raisers in non-rollout states. They are saying that Enterprise will start getting the LEAF in January of 2011. Meanwhile I got the "you can order in Fall/Winter of 2011 almost a year after the car is in the rental fleets. Hopefully...

    Minnesota Leafs?

Anyone a little dissappointed that Nissan will be putting the LEAF in the rental fleets in January 2011 while some of us non rollout states will not be able to even order until the Fall/Winter of 2011.

Nissan Presents Leaf Sound for Pedestrians...

To be honest I don't worry about the blind people. It is the kids in the subdivision. The blind in my area do cross at the right spots and cross when they are supposed to. I agree the backup sound is pretty bad. I would be looking for the truck.

What is everyone's typical driving habit?

I live in a non-rollout area but I think the driving patterns in my are close to ideal. I drive about 11.5 miles round trip to work. I can hit the grocery store or hardware store on my normal route. If I wanted to hit the mall it would add maybe 2 miles and if I wanted to hit the airport it...

Poll : So what are you driving now?

I used to ride a Harley to work. Then it got too expensive. (Kids in college) My 6 mile ride would end up being 100 miles on a nice day. I would ride a bike to work but there is that thing about being run over in the backwards part of the country that I live in. I have walked to work and home...

    June-30 Nissan Mail

I am still hoping Nissan is still under promising and is ahead of schedule. Maybe that is why the email was delayed. ;) Just remember you give a man a fish you are building a customer base. You teach a man to fish and you have a competitor.

Nissan Presents Leaf Sound for Pedestrians...

Love the video! I forgot how much I like the iMEV. As much as I hated the idea of the sound at first I will be alright with it. I had originally selected the red color for the LEAF thinking the kids in the neighborhood would be much more likely to see it. After they announced the sound I have...

    June-30 Nissan Mail

Nissan is doing a great job. I can only imagine what a nightmare it is to try to deal with electrical codes in every county and city in the nation. The fact that Nissan is spear heading that for the customer is a huge help. In the backwards part of the world that I live in most people have not...
