Why would anyone buy a nissan leaf right now???

cwerdna, if Doug has been on this forum 9 years and still doesn't get kWh vs kW right every time, you may consider letting it go. Not everybody has a dedicated neural circuit for comparing and transforming energy and power units, not everybody has the energy to grow one.

    Battery Upgrades are very possible

of course the application code isn't public. what i mean is that the link to the "open source code" and hardware design no longer works.

    Battery Upgrades are very possible

good luck with the part-out kmcmahan! i gave up after having to spend $2000 on front steering balljoints and realizing i could buy a used Bolt (64 kWh battery with active cooling) for $16k. but then again that was 2020.

Nissan Ariya to be announced for the JDM July 15, 2020

I give up. The median human brain is not equipped to understand the difference between power and energy. Does anyone talk about gallon-hours? Heck no. Forget kilowatt-hours and kilowatts. Let's just talk in terms of horsepower and and miles.

Trying to determine market value of current 24kw 76% SOH battery?

There are three-year Bolt leases out there with total cost close to $6k.

Hyundai Ioniq BEV, hybrid, and PHEV.

I would never have considered this downside to PHEVs. Truly sad.

    CHAdeMO dead?

There's no way you're disappointed that your car has limited access to EA's network, right?

2012 Leaf upgrade to 40 kwh battery pack using EV Enhanced battery translator

Great work on the documentation! I considered doing the same with my 2012 but ultimately couldn't accept the cost and lack of thermal controls. I guess your all-in cost was around 20% lower than selling the car and buying a newer used EV. So, a good deal too.

Are PHEVs a transitional technology? Or a long lasting use case?

IMO plugin hybrids will only be competitive while lithium-ion is above $50/kWh and below 300 Wh/kg. After that point, who would want to drive a PHEV when a BEV with 400 miles of range and 15-minute charging is available for the same price.

    Chevrolet Bolt & Bolt EUV

Now realizing I'll have to eventually pony up $5 for foam to fix my Bolt's front seats. What was the video? It's wiped out now.
