Is there any way to tell a 2017 Leaf to only charge to 80% instead of 100%?

I have heard here and elsewhere that if you have a choice it is better for your long-term battery life only to charge to around 80%. I know that some automatic battery management takes place anyway but is there anyway either through the standard controls or using third-party software to tell it...

Is there a way to automatically ask my 2017 to stop charging at 80%?

It appears that charging to 100% is bad for my battery and also normally unnecessary. Is there any way to set the charge timer so that it switches off when it reaches 80% instead of 100%? Is that something I could do with leafspy perhaps? Or does the car automatically do something behind the...

Thinking about getting 2016 Leaf S from US - what should I worry about?

Actually I did get a Leaf in the end - a 2018. And the info I got was very useful! I just didn't get that particular car. So please keep posting!

Best way to do L3 charging for speed and battery health

I noticed when I charged my 2017 Leaf on an L3 for the first time (briefly) that it appeared to charge at 40KWh then dropped down to 20KWh (might have gone further but I was just testing it). Is that a feature of the way that the charger reports or a real thing? I just read, "When the vehicle...

If you are in your car and plugged in to charge you can't also operate the heater?! Why? (2017)

I thought that that is what would work. And it is what I have tried in the past, but In this instance, only the fan goes on, not the heater. Moreover, after a while, even that turns off and you have to switch the car on again.

Is there any way to change the factory settings for climate control temperature.

I don't have a navigation system on my 2017 Leaf alas - I have the basic trim model. Any way to get around that?

I can't adjust the temperature that climate control tries to achieve (or can I?) But what is it?

My 2017 leaf says in the manual under " climate control " it will always try to get to a manufacturer specified temperature but a) what is it? And b) is there any way to alter it? (I find my car is always too cold in winter and wouldn't mind falling short a bit in charging speed if I could gain...

Am I right in thinking there's no way to display the internal temperature in my 2017 Leaf?

As far as I can see while I can see the outside temperature and the "target" inside temperature (on my standard, "no frills" 2017 model)? It must know the temperature if it is going to try to get to a certain temperature. Why not show it? Or is there a setting I have missed?

If you are in your car and plugged in to charge you can't also operate the heater?! Why? (2017)

I just read in my manual something to the effect that if you are plugged in to charge, you can ventilate the car but not heat or cool it at the same time. I would like to be able to get the car to the temperature I like while I am inside it! Surely it is better to do the climate control while...

Read this before starting a new thread

I am a bit disappointed to discover the wiki is offline! Is there a new one elsewhere? Either from this group or another?

Is there any way to change the factory settings for climate control temperature.

You mean LeafSpy or NissanConnect? Because there's no description of a cabin temp adjustment function in the LeafSpy app's description https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.Turbo3.Leaf_Spy_Pro&hl=en_CA&gl=US. Is there any way to verify whether it would be different for a 2017 Leaf...

Is there any way to change the factory settings for climate control temperature.

In my manual for my 2017 Leaf it says "As the temperature is set to the factory default setting, the user cannot adjust the temperature." Is there no way around this? If I install Leaf Spy or similar? For whatever reason, I find the default temperature too chilly in winter and it doesn't demist...

How much "invisible" battery management does my Leaf do?

Has anyone done a "Leaf University" guide specifically to help keep battery life and/or maximise range? One thing I wondered about - does "B" make any difference to battery range or brake pad wear compared to "D" or is it just a matter of taste?

How much "invisible" battery management does my Leaf do?

Not sure what you mean by SOH and I haven't installed LeafSpy. I have all my capacity bars so far!

How much "invisible" battery management does my Leaf do?

I have been looking at battery university and it says https://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/how_to_charge_when_to_charge_table, battery lasts longest when operating between 30 and 80 percent SoC. But I also remember reading somewhere that some vehicles don't actually use some of the...

Roughly how many km will my Leaf 2017 go once it stops telling me my battery life?

I was on the highway and I worried that turtle mode would reduce my speed or something! So -- would be about 5% - 8km? I was lucky to get home - and I live on the top of a big hill!

Roughly how many km will my Leaf 2017 go once it stops telling me my battery life?

Maybe I can't be trusted with the answer? As I recall, as your battery runs out, first you can still see % power left but no range estimate. Then you can't get a % either (maybe at < 10%?) That only happened once and I was 5kmish from home, it was summer, and I made it back fine. So how panicked...

How can I tell how many amps my Nissan Leaf 2017 is receiving at a charger?

Would I need to install Leaf Spy or something? What us the maximum amperage I can take fill advantage of? And is there such a thing as an l2 charger too powerful to use? Or does it just automatically step down to what I can handle?

    What's a good average energy economy (miles/kWh)?

Do you have any idea of when the "low tire pressure" warning kicks in? Also, is that the same for both winter tires and summer ones? And if it is higher than the recommended pressure on my tires what's the potential disadvantage?

    What's a good average energy economy (miles/kWh)?

I am getting a little over 5 miles/kWh at the moment in my 2017 Leaf (according to the gauge), which seems to be on the high end for any EV. What's the best you have managed? When the snow comes I will try to remember to reset so I can see how much difference that makes. Is the efficiency more...
