Yes. More shade! I forgot that I parked my Leaf on driveway in sun (west side of house) up until 9/2022. Ha !

2016-2017 model year 30 kWh bar losers and capacity losses

This past summer temperature and year was much milder than previous year. Lots of rain, and not many hot days. I garage the Leaf and garage gets into high 80's during the summer months. So less of that this year. But otherwise same behavior as previous years.

2016-2017 model year 30 kWh bar losers and capacity losses

Three year update. Three years since I received new 40 kWh replacement battery for my 2016 Leaf SV. According to LeafSpy Pro, I can charge to: 34.8 kWh AHr = 104.7 SOH = 90.74% GIDS = 449 Hx = 103.53% Odometer 85k miles. I added 15k miles in three years since battery I quoted my 2 year report...

2016-2017 model year 30 kWh bar losers and capacity losses

So is the connection to 12 volt battery the most significant contributor to battery SOH degradation/decay? More than time spent at "high temperature + fully charged"

2016-2017 model year 30 kWh bar losers and capacity losses

Yes to all the above except shade. I park outside in the sun on my white concrete driveway. I charge at home. I keep vehicle between 20-80% except for the rare case where I need to drive long distance for the day. But at 100% charge it never sits around for more than 8 hours before my trip. I...

2016-2017 model year 30 kWh bar losers and capacity losses

What does that mean? Disconnect the 12v battery and SOH does not decline? FYI I'm at SOH 91.2% after 1 year, 10 months and 10,000 miles since I got new 40 kWh battery under warranty for my 2016 Leaf SV.

I didn't know that's how it works. Thank you for the suggestion!

Battery warranty replacement claim - how to begin?

Yes, check all the dealerships you can. I found it's key to work with the one that is most Leaf savy when I had my battery replaced under warranty. Here is one dealership list https://www.nissanusa.com/parts-service/en/dealers/ohio/cincinnati

2016-2017 model year 30 kWh bar losers and capacity losses

With my 2016 SV Leaf I got new 40 kWh battery just over 9 months ago under warranty. I keep the battery between 40-80% charge. I'm at SOH 96.4%. 4000 miles on vehicle since getting new battery. Since then, the only Level 3 (DC) charge was from dealership the day they installed new battery. My...

2016 leaf sv with 69% soh

Do you have a CarFax report on the vehicle? They typically note when vehicle is in a Nissan dealership for service and you might be able to guess that BMS firmware was updated depending on the service it received. You would have to post the service description here and ask others what their...

2016 leaf sv with 69% soh

FYI I got my 2016 Leaf SV at 62k miles SOH 75% 10 bars October 2018 battery firmware was already updated prior. It dropped to 8 bars 2 years later, with 10k miles added, San Diego. Nissan replaced 30 kWh battery with 40 kWh new. I’m guessing you have 3+ years remaining on 8 year warranty...

One more note: I was super impressed with working with "T" (Thuong Tran). Once I dropped off vehicle most of my communication was via text message to her. She was responsive to my texts and also answered my phone calls to her direct line. Also I have a paper trail of our communication via text...

I made appointment via web with Mossy Nissan Kearny Mesa dealership and specified this service: Advisor: Thuong Tran Repair Services: Tell Us More • Nissan Leaf battery is under 9 bars. 2016-2017 model year 30 kWh bar losers and capacity losses

Dealership did not say. But from all postings on this forum about that question, the answer appears to be that vehicle is only covered for 8 year, 100,000 mile regardless of how many replacement batteries you have. Once you reach mileage or time, then no more warranty coverage. And the clock for...

2016-2017 model year 30 kWh bar losers and capacity losses

That's exactly what I'm seeing currently. When I connect LeafSpy Pro to Leaf the year/battery is set at 2016 / 60 kWh (and not 30 kWh or 40 kWh) and SOC and other values don't look correct. I then change it to 2018 / 40 kWh and it works. If I leave year at 2016, then the 40 kWh change does not...
