    Battery Upgrades are very possible

Where did you get quoted that much? One of my buddies was quoted over $8,000 for a 24kWh pack from Nissan.

Nissan finally gets it with new 240V portable EVSE

My guess is because it's an RV park outlet. You theoretically could charge the car just about anywhere in the country.

DIY battery replacement for 2011 with newer battery

So? It works. It's promising for other owners with very depleted batteries. It's at least something and probably cheaper than another 24kWh battery from Nissan.

DIY battery replacement for 2011 with newer battery

https://cleantechnica.com/2019/08/10/a-2012-leaf-with-150-miles-of-range/ This company in Quebec is installing 40kWh packs in older cars with plans to do the same with 62kWh packs.

How often to "Cell Balance"? Weekly? Monthly? Depends?

The pack shunts cells any time there is an imbalance in the pack, not just during charging.

Best Way to "Unload" my 2011 Leaf SL

I guess I've missed something about them. Why is it funny?

Best Way to "Unload" my 2011 Leaf SL

I know they aren't in production yet, but what about a battery from https://fenix.systems/leafbattery?

Level 2 charging for 5-7 hours outdoors in the rain

I trust that the engineered systems that run the world will work properly when used in their intended conditions. If you can't, then why use any of it? Might as well live in a cabin. I assembled my level 2 EVSE and understand how it works. If there's a ground fault, it will shut down. I charge...

    What's the maximum charging voltage?

A 50A EVSE can give you 40A continuous. (80% of the rating) The Leaf can only take 6600W in. 26A at 240V, 30A at 208V.

    What's the maximum charging voltage?

My EVSE reads instantaneous amperage and the one at work shows kW load. The one at home is 240, the one at work is 208. The other readings I have are from leafspy. My car is a 16, but I don't think they would have changed the on board chargers that much. There's no particular reason it would be...

Level 2 charging for 5-7 hours outdoors in the rain

Then don't use a cheap Chinese EVSE if you have to charge in the rain...

Level 2 charging for 5-7 hours outdoors in the rain

It's not necessary and kind of a waste of time. If the car has a problem it'll stop charging. The EVSE has internal ground fault protection too.

    What's the maximum charging voltage?

The car doesn't care if you give it 208V or 240V. It'll draw 6.6kW and charge. It'll draw ~31A@208V and~27A@240V. I don't know what the max input voltage is for the charger, but I don't see any point or advantage to raising it above 240V, nor do I see any advantage to bumping to 240V from 208V...

How disappointed should I be that Nissan did not include liquid battery cooling on the Leaf E-Plus?

Some of the units must be limited. All the ones at the dealerships are 25kW. There's only 3 I know of within 100 miles that are 50kW. It's a 2016, 30kW battery Nice, I'll check it out. I'm at 124 since October 2017. 7 per month average.

How disappointed should I be that Nissan did not include liquid battery cooling on the Leaf E-Plus?

Any idea what the charge rates were? If I use the 25kW ones at the dealership the battery doesn't heat up much. If I use one of the 50kW chargers around the city the battery will heat up a significant amount. The other day I went from 13% and 50*F to 90% and 95*F. Good to know. Do you use drop...

How disappointed should I be that Nissan did not include liquid battery cooling on the Leaf E-Plus?

The ability to QC without going "holy ****, my battery is 116*F!" ... It'll get over 100*F in the winter if you drive 80 miles, QC and drive another 80. I don't think it logs temperature, but I'll look in the logs and see. Unfortunately the logs didn't move from my old phone so I only have back...

How disappointed should I be that Nissan did not include liquid battery cooling on the Leaf E-Plus?

This is precisely what I was expecting they had done by adding more cells and how I figured they would be ok without a TMS. I still don't think no TMS is a good idea and I won't be buying another non TMS EV as I've seen my pack get extremely hot when I need to do a lot of driving and a QC or 2...

    Post Your Snow Leaf Pictures

Thanks. That's weird,I put the link in the IMG brackets and it just showed a blank box when I previewed the post. Some of that snow was drifted up but there was 18" everywhere else. It was a pretty good storm. First snow day in 20 years in a lot of the school districts.
