Couldn't you just take the Leaf to the dealer and have them test the battery? If it qualifies and they order you a new battery free of charge, buy the car. If they don't cover it, then don't complete the purchase? Wouldn't that work?

No, I'd hope to mainly use QC when I'm out and charge at home the rest of the time. I'd suppose it'd only be an issue if I took it somewhere and then wanted to use it again that night. I don't know how often it'd come up, but that probably won't happen that often.
