How to charge to 80%, then top up to 100%

Yep. I use my Land Cruiser for that. Quite the opposite of a Leaf. 12mpg downhill with a tailwind.

How to charge to 80%, then top up to 100%

Thanks! Yes and no. Yes, the setup you describe preserves battery life (per Nissan's advice) by limiting the amount of time sitting idle at 100% charge. No, because with this setup, charging does not begin until the dawn hours. This leaves me with limited mileage if I want to use the car in...

How to charge to 80%, then top up to 100%

No, you're right. Just thought it would be fun to troll other Leaf owners by asking a technical question. Actually, since I do own a Leaf, I know that the on-board charging timer can be set to stop at either 80% or 100%. Not arbitrary, but fine for what I need. The problem is that the...

Charge to 80%, program to top up to 100%

Yes. This was my first thought as well. However, as far as I can tell, the car's on-board charge timer only allows one charging "event" per 24 hours, so the 80% or 100% toggle applies to a whole day. In other words, I see no way to charge to 80% and 100% within a single day. Is there a way to...

How to charge to 80%, then top up to 100%

I'm not sure where to post this, since it involves both the car and the EVSE, so I'm reaching out to two subforums. Perhaps someone has figured it out. Some background: I have a Siemens Versicharge (non-networked) and a 2013 SL. I drive the car very consistently, about 50 miles/day on weekdays...

New to the forum - q. about charging patterns

My Siemens EVSE has a delay function. Are you saying that I am better off postponing the nightly charge so that the battery tops out shortly before I drive away in the AM? Currently, I charge immediately upon arrival. I prefer the idea of having the car ready ASAP.

New to the forum - q. about charging patterns

Hey there. I'm in Seattle and bought my '13 SL as a CPO in July '15. ~24K with 12/12 at the moment. I have a charging/battery health related question: I use my Leaf almost exclusively for commuting and have a very predictable daily 48 mile highway round trip. The car's guess-o-meter registers...
