Martinsburg, WV National Drive Electric Week Event

Hey, for anyone in the eastern panhandle of WV or surrounding states (Hagerstown, MD, Winchester, VA, etc.) please join us on Sat, Sep 15 from noon to 3:00 for a Drive Electric Week event. Should be a great time to share EV stories and show off your electric ride to the public. I'll be there in...

    How Useful is Faster Charging?

Everyone's situation is different, so for some I'm sure it's very valuable. In my case, I have a '15 S without QC and the 3.3Kwh charger. I also only charge on L1 120V. There are only a couple charging stations in my area period and no DC QC, so the QC is no real value for me. I only use the...

    Used Leaf Future Depreciation

No argument on the resale value, it is what it is. Perhaps I misinterpreted your original statement and read it as everyone who bought a new Leaf suffered $20K in depreciation. The difference between MSRP and resale being $20K, sure. In my case, starting at $16K and selling it at $6K is an...

    Annual Battery Check service

I had mine in for the airbag recall, an A/C recall, and the annual battery check back in late Nov. No charge for anything. Don't know if it was just my dealer or what, but I thought they said it was covered under the Nissan One-to-One program.

    Used Leaf Future Depreciation

That's not really a fair comparison since the new 2015 Leaf didn't really sell for close to $30K once you had factory incentives and the tax credit. Including those, I bought my S for about $16K new with 0% financing. I could have bought used for less, but I was willing to pay more for the full...

    2015 Battery status ???

The pack numbers in LeafSpy fluctuate over time and with conditions, so I wouldn't be too concerned on an initial reading. My '15 S was showing 92% SOH and 90%Hx just a month after purchased new in Dec last year. It had sat on the dealer lot for several months and they left it plugged in during...

    extended warranty

Great points already made. I don't generally buy these as they are: - nearly pure profit for the dealer - don't seem to cover what actually breaks - the fine print excludes certain items or limits coverage - 3rd party companies tend to say that you didn't properly maintain the vehicle and it's...

    New Purchase: Charging Questions

Congrats! It looks and is equipped just like mine. The 240V service would be nice, but I actually just use 120V charging since I drive so few miles per day. I usually run it down to low battery warning (about 17% charge left) and then it takes about 14 hours to fully recharge (it seems to...

Soon to be Leaf Owner Needs Crash-Course in LeafSpy

I purchased the following to use with a '15 Leaf and Leaf Spy on a Moto X Pure running Android 6. It works fine for me and I just leave it plugged in. http://www.amazon.com/Panlong-Bluetooth-Diagnostic-Scanner-Android/dp/B00PJPHEBO

    2015 Noise Maker

Thanks for asking this. I've also wondered what special noisemaker is present and what it's supposed to sound like. I didn't think it was the high pitched whine as that wouldn't be very noticeable to a pedestrian. The reverse beeping sound is noticeable, but I can't hear anything else.

    New owner

First recharge update.... It took 16 hours on 120V from 11% battery remaining after a week of driving. My Kill A Watt meter said it took 21.4 kWh to recharge and I covered 92.4 miles on that charge. The cost per kWh including taxes, fees, etc. is 12.9 cents/kWh based on a recent power bill, so...

    New owner

Thanks for the info. The car will be garaged all the time except when out, so preheating overnight isn't really a necessity (no colder than the Kia would be at cold start in the morning). It should never be below freezing in the garage (lower level of a townhouse) especially in downtown...

    New owner

Hello, new 2015 Leaf S owner in WV. I like unique and/or fuel efficient vehicles and have been wanting an EV for a while now. I owned a smart fortwo for about 6 years and had a blast with it. My old commute just didn't permit non-Tesla EV ownership with the range I needed allowing for a...
