    Leafs Over Texas!

I got this seat warmer for $15 and it definitely takes the edge off on those cold days: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004G7TPQS/ref=oh_o05_s01_i00_details" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; It uses MUCH less battery than the heater. So, with using the prewarmer while plugged-in...

    Lighting for charge cover

I could never find the motion sensing LED light at Lowe's or HD, but I found this one at Fry's: http://www.frys.com/product/6677134?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for $7.99. Though it does not include the 3 AA batteries, it fits under the latch easily...

    DFW Metroplex

Thanks for the info. Did they charge for the update? Also, did you take your Leaf there for your 6 month inspection?

Spotted: Silver Leaf in the parking lot at Campion Trails in Irving Friday Sept 16 AM. Good to see you're not only concerned about a healthy environment, but a healthy body as well. Keep it up.

Just got my windows tinted. As you guys know, the heat is pretty brutal right now in DFW. Did a bit of research, probably too much, but finally went with Wincos by Madico. Had it done by Tritek in Garland. Kinda expensive at $400, (they have an online coupon, of course I forgot to bring it) but...

The official "I got my Leaf" thread

Picked up our Leaf last PM at Grapevine Nissan in Texas. Enjoying it finally.

    DFW Metroplex

Picked up my new Leaf last night from Grapevine Nissan. Thoroughly enjoying it, lots of "gadgets" onboard, not sure if I'll ever figure it out completely. The buying experience was quite the hassle. Our sales guy, Richard Curry was the easiest to deal with. He walked us through the features of...

    We Got It!

Congrats on your new Leaf. BTW, where did you get your windows tinted and was it very expensive?

If the nitrogen for the tires is free, I'm all for it. I wouldn't pay for it, since the benefits are pretty minimal, from what I've read. Also, just because you start with nitrogen in your tires, does not mean you can't refill it with regular air, which is already 78% nitrogen.

Thanks for the heads up. I also dealt with Richard and he seemed to be a pretty straight shooter, disappointing they are trying to push these dealer mark-ups. Let us know if there are any more troubles with the dealership.

OK, I've joined plugshare, so if you guys ever need a charge, give me a buzz, I'm in north Irving just south of 635. I've got a standard plug on the outside of the house you can use if nobody is at home or a 240 EV charger in the garage. Hopefully, we can help each other from getting stranded.

Charing dock tax credit in 2010 (when installed) no Leaf yet

Yep, I agree. Probably digressing from the topic for this thread, but the tax system is pretty messed up. I'll probably get audited for this, but the IRS is waaay too powerful. Personally, I'm in favor of a national sales tax or consumption tax, or even a flat tax, but the system we have is...

Charing dock tax credit in 2010 (when installed) no Leaf yet

Just ran the numbers for the $7500 tax credit on IRS Form 8936, no problem getting the full credit for 2010 IF I had bought the car in 2010. Hopefully tax laws for the Leaf credit will not change for 2011 tax year. The credit for the electric vehicle is much less restrictive than the credit for...

Charing dock tax credit in 2010 (when installed) no Leaf yet

Actually the wording is "may offset the price by 50% up to $2000". Guess I need to also look into whether I'll be getting a tax credit of $7500 back for the Leaf, or whether somewhere it says "may". Some parts of the country are getting their charges free with the EV project and some are getting...

Charing dock tax credit in 2010 (when installed) no Leaf yet

Just did my taxes and got exactly $0 credit for my charging dock. Thank you alternative minimum tax. I'd be nice if Nissan was upfront about getting a "50% tax credit". Now I have a fully paid for charging dock since December and no Leaf to plug in and my delivery is now "pending", again. Like...

Ordered mine at the end of October from Texas Nissan in Grapevine. About $250 less than MSRP. I worked with Richard Curry, no pressure, nice guy.

Who plans to NOT change their driving behavior with a Leaf?

I will probably drive the Leaf like I drive my Prius, trying to squeeze out as many miles as I can. It's probably that competitive nature, when I see how many mpg or "trees" I'm getting, I want to get more. Although when I drive my Mini, I'm a bat out of hades (no display telling me how many...

    May Deliveries! Or... May(be)?

Got a May delivery date now also.
  19. D

    Leafs Over Texas!

Yep, my dashboard also says May 2011 for delivery, but I'm keeping my pure electric Leaf, too much $$$ for the Volt "hybrid".

How has your Leaf ordering process gone here in Texas????

Hey Joshua, I agree with Andy. I also ordered mine through Texas Nissan in Grapevine, no hassles and got it for less than MSRP. You might even be able to get a trucking company to deliver it to your home from Grapevine. About 8 years ago, I couldn't get a good deal on my Prius, so I ordered it...
