    End of Lease Strategies?

Just saw that a local dealer is selling a ton of 2015 Leafs for less than the calculated residual on our 2012 Leaf!

    End of Lease Strategies?

We have a 2012 we bought very early on, and are paying more than $400/month - lease end in August. What really surprises me is that Nissan won't reduce the lease payment if we want to extend the lease for a year. Why not give us a lease extension at a price similar to what everyone else is...

    2013/2014 Nissan Leaf Lease Information

And as it turns out you are absolutely right! The remaining lease payments don't disappear, so in effect we'd be purchasing the vehicle for a net $11,5000. I guess the question is whether that's a particularly good deal. From other posts it sounds like that's in the range of what the vehicle...

    2013/2014 Nissan Leaf Lease Information

Well, it's not so much that they'd forgive the 3k, it's just that we wouldn't be paying lease payments for the next 6 months. The residual they're using is the same one originally established. So we'd pay $11,500 now, but save $3k over the course of next 6 months. Hence the ~8,500 net. At...

    2013/2014 Nissan Leaf Lease Information

We were one of the folks who leased (2012 Leaf) before all the lease prices came down. We're paying $450/month and our 39 month lease is up in August, with a residual of $16,400. Nissan is offering us $5,000 off the residual if we buy the Leaf now. When you factor in avoiding ~3k in lease...

    extend lease

Thanks for the details. Hadn't been tracking exactly how the pricing had evolved. Mark

    A lot of improvements of a Leaf 2015 compared to 2011 ?

Our lease expires next May. We're trying to figure out "what's next?" Several options: 1. Extend lease - we're paying $405 now, which is crazy as far as I can tell. And not happy with range frankly, particularly winter. 2. Bridge the period to when the 2016's become available - hoping the...

    extend lease

We'll hit the end of our 3-year lease in May 2015, and are trying to figure out "what next?" I've never quite figured out why our lease payment is $405 when I hear about others at less than $200. Asked the dealer once and he just punted/obfuscated, basically said it's all too complex - no...

So, owners what range are you getting ?

So does the seat heater make any different on range? I'd never used the seat heater, but am realizing it appears to use much less energy than the heater, but is quite effective. Turning the seat heaters on and off makes no difference at all to the energy usage statistics - which seems strange...

So, owners what range are you getting ?

Neglected to mention our long term energy economy has been 3.3 miles/kWh. Reset it today, last 10 miles 2.6.

So, owners what range are you getting ?

Today- 40 degrees outside temp. Car heat set at 68. 12 capacity bars. Typical house recharge - probably 80% Hit "empty" at 37 miles. Turtled at 42 miles Day consisted of 14, 3, 10, 3, 1, 11 mile trips. Parked outside.

So, owners what range are you getting ?

BillG, thanks. You stare at something every day and then try and remember exactly what is what. You are of course right. There are 12 capacity bars - pretty sure that's all there have ever been (true?). It's the next bar over that disappears at the rate of a bar per 3 miles - the capacity...

So, owners what range are you getting ?

Bill, no - we start each day with all 12 bars. And what I might have thought is that as the battery loses capacity, we would see fewer miles for those top bars, perhaps before losing them entirely. But today for example, we lost a bar every 2.5 to 3.5 miles almost like clock-work. Mark

So, owners what range are you getting ?

Have just joined the forum. Our Leaf is 2 1/2 years old. As you all know the range has always been pretty unpredictable, but in the last month or two it's been getting pretty predictable - and not in a good way. Today, for example, 40 degrees outside, have gotten almost exactly 3 miles/bar...
