Leaf Gen 2 - New Nissan LEAF World Premier on Sep 5, 5:30 PM PDT

It all centers around expectations I suppose. On the one hand you have a vehicle that significantly increases range over its predecessor, while offering more advanced driving tech, and at a lower price point. That would seem amazing in and of itself. On the other hand, it seems Tesla have...

Leaf Gen 2 - New Nissan LEAF World Premier on Sep 5, 5:30 PM PDT

I agree that makes perfect sense. I guess I'm just a bit bitter that I waited over a year (2 lease extensions) and the new LEAF really doesn't seem all that "new". Yes it looks better and has more supplementary features, but I don't feel enough effort was put in to improve the "guts" of the...

Leaf Gen 2 - New Nissan LEAF World Premier on Sep 5, 5:30 PM PDT

Couldn't have said it better myself. This level of complacency from Nissan (and poor value for the given range: http://insideevs.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/111-5.png) is exactly why I am now shopping around for a Bolt. Surprisingly, the lease numbers are almost identical to what I am paying...

Leaf Gen 2 - New Nissan LEAF World Premier on Sep 5, 5:30 PM PDT

To say I am unhappy would be an understatement. If the car wasn't 60kWh like the Bolt, at least I was looking forward to highway driving using ProPilot, but now I see that it's limited to a top speed of 62MPH!? That and the fact that they didn't future proof the quick charging speed at all...

LEAF 2 : What we know so far (2018 or later?)

I definitely was told "in March 2018". I made sure to ask 3 times because that just didn't seem right to me if the car is supposed to be up for order in September.

LEAF 2 : What we know so far (2018 or later?)

I just spoke with NMAC to get my lease extended again while I wait for more info on the 2018 LEAF. I don't know how much information they have on the 2018 LEAF but they were very firm when I asked them multiple times regarding being able to order in September 2017 and actually receiving the car...

LEAF 2 : What we know so far (2018 or later?)

Hopefully Hyundai makes their leases reasonable so it can be a good alternative option. I wish I knew more about the degradation tied to sitting on a dealer lot (and LEAFSpy) before I got my April 2014 manufactured SV in August 2014 since it was at 92% SOH when I got LEAFSpy in September 2014...

LEAF 2 : What we know so far (2018 or later?)

Where did you hear this information from? If this is true, then I'll be in a real pickle since my 30,000 mile 2014 SV is getting dicey with winter range (80% SOH), the IONIQ will likely be difficult to get on the East Coast, and Chevy insists on less than favorable leases for the Bolt.

Poll : Number of miles before losing the first bar

Lost 1st bar today on my 2014 SV after 25 months and 24730 miles. For the DC area, I don't think that this rate of degradation is acceptable. Nissan better pay closer attention to the durability of the battery in the next-gen LEAF or else I will be spending my money elsewhere for my next car.

    Strange Battery Behavior?

Thank you very much for this helpful information! This explains pretty much what I have been seeing.

    Strange Battery Behavior?

Yes, you are right. I still get 75+ mile range reliably so in the grand scheme of things, this isn't an inhibiting problem. I was just curious to see if anyone had any input on this as I have been consistently seeing this behavior for about 6 months now.

    Strange Battery Behavior?

I'm not sure a screenshot would be helpful since its the rate at which the numbers are changing rather than their actual value. But yes, according to the power indicator, when not moving, the power being used is somewhere between 0 and 200W. However, there appears to be a load somewhere else...

    Strange Battery Behavior?

I have a 14 mile round trip commute which is relatively flat. For the behavior that I am going to describe, the AC/heat is off, the 12V battery voltage is 13V according to LEAFSpy (12V battery not being charged), the maximum cell imbalance is 10mV (no shunted cells showing) and my driving style...

    Joining the EV only club

I've now been using my 2014 SV with QC as my only vehicle since August 2014. Even road trips of 200 miles are easily doable thanks to the robust QC infrastructure in the MD/DC/VA area.

What was your previous car before Leaf?

None! My 2014 LEAF is my first car! :D

New recall? P5327 for electronic brake boost in cold temps.

The update took over 2 hours at my dealership in Silver Spring, MD. Not too happy about how long it took but the differences in regen are consistent with what others have said: the brakes are less grabby at low speeds and regen in D mode now allows for smoother coasting.

All NRG eVGo DC chargers in Northern MD down!

Has anyone ever seen a ridiculous situation like this? Based on the comments on Plugshare, the 5 NRG fast chargers in northern MD are all broken. I went to the one in Towson today, needing a ~80% charge to make it to Delaware and despite the charger being claimed as repaired, it promptly broke...

power window stops working when cold

I had the exact same thing happen. Cold weather hit and driver's side window would not open at all. Went to the dealership and they diagnosed it as a bad switch. However, the mechanic said he just played around with the switch a bit, pressed it down really hard, and that got it working again...
