    Carcharging/Blink Reduces resedential EVSE's to 24Amp.

I have a 2011 Leaf , and bought one of the first Blink units for that in Feb 2011. Now I have a Telsa Model S also, and a couple weeks ago noticed I was only pulling 24 amps instead of 30. So, drat !!! I might shop around for a better unit now. This one actually has been reliable , more than...

    Need Blink SD card

It is behind the screen. on the first PC card behind the screen to the lower left. The SD card actually protrudes a little bit beyond the lower edge of the card so you can push it in to release it. See photos above for reference. Good luck, Reddy

    Need Blink SD card

Good news ! After a month of waiting, Blink decided it would be easier to simply MAIL me the micro-SD card with the software. Ecotality took about 2 weeks to decide that I was OK to receive the SD card, after initially telling me that only Blink contractors could install the SD card. Then...

    Need Blink SD card

Mike, I'm betting you don't live in Texas, and don't recognize that while, yes, I am in the same state as those cities, I am nowhere close to them. I'm honored to be noted by the Blink apologist. Texas is a big state. Odds are, bigger than your state. Amarillo (the city next to my name on...

    Need Blink SD card

I got a definite 'possibly' from Blink support that they might consider sending me the SD card. They are thinking about it. Nothing seems to happen quickly at Blink. I am not sure where a 'contractor' is. I think I have two of the few EVs for hundreds of miles around. (BTW - The Leaf was my...

    Need Blink SD card

A recent power outage appears to have corrupted my Blink. It no longer boots, and I get the EV Project splash screen, then "No Linux, Try CE" Blink support says I have to have a contractor come out and fix it, they won't sell just the SD card. Unfortunately, I am out of warranty. I have...

    Heat while plugged in?

Now that we have had some cold days into the 20's, using the pre-heater has been one of the nicest features of the car. While I am aware that I can do this with the timer, my departure times are never consistent enough to use that. However the iPhone app takes me only 10 - 15 seconds to turn on...

Obscuring ID of Vehicles - Pro and Con

Check out "10 Stupidest Hacks of All Time" from eWeek. http://www.eweek.com/c/a/Security/10-Stupidest-Hacks-of-All-Time-201087/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Look at Hack #4. "A hacker infected MySpace accounts, bragged about the exploit online and posted pictures of himself...

    EV's Too Quiet ?!

For what it's worth, I had a VERY near miss with a bird when I was going 20mph. The sound was off, since I was going faster than 17mph. I would have though that a bird's eyesight would have prevented this, but these days nobody takes personal responsibility anymore. Not even the birds.

Poll : Will Volt "sales" top Leaf "sales" in Sept ?

They clearly are skipping some numbers, but it doesn't look like they skip big blocks at a time. You might look at the order spreadsheet to see how the VINs were going out early on. Since the VIN numbers are stamped all over the frame, I suspect they are assigned in Japan during production...

    Shark Fin antenna cover

I'd want to hear the experience of more users. This part of the web site bothered me: "Though the stock antenna will usually still provide better reception...." Also, how about the car wash? It seems that the fins would bend less than the stock antenna, and thus get pulled off or dislocated.

    leaf sound

Here are a couple video articles from the 9/15/11 front page article in Wall Street Journal with the sounds, and an interview with a blind consultant who worked with Nissan. http://www.emailthis.clickability.com/et/emailThis?clickMap=viewThis&etMailToID=980581133"...

Anything you'd say to the designers of the physical blink?

Wow !?! We are supposed to wind the cord around that thing? I just let the cord lie on the concrete, and I normally have OCD. I'll bet you're a rare bird, or rare rat. Most of us aren't winding the cord back on...... which points out that an auto-retracting cord would score extra sales points.

Is there an issue with the Blink Chargers?

There is a bug that intermittently will disable the Blink if it is not connected to the network. I have seen this twice. I connect the Blink to our network with a Cisco wireless access point. My daughter accidentally unplugged it 1 month ago. I found out 3 days later, when the Blink would...

Powerful peak oil article "Be Afraid"

When I went to China a couple years ago, I was expecting to see hoards of bicycles all over the place, just like it was in National Geographic as a kid. After getting stuck in my first Beijing traffic jam, and seeing very few bicycles, but lots of VW's , Audis, Buicks, Cherys, etc., I can...

'This Month' changes at GMT, not local time

Not that this is a huge issue, but I observed around 7pm this evening that my charging statistics on the Blink were reset to 0 on everything for this month. It is after midnight GMT, so it appears that while the TIME is local, the MONTH is not.

Range- 100 mile versus 200 mile

Funny, at my house we DON'T plug in every night to put less stress on the batteries. If I only drive 7 - 10 miles in a day, I don't bother to plug in unless I expect a lot of driving the next day. Fewer charge cycles, and it doesn't hurt at all to leave the batteries at 65-70%. Plus I...

What was your Leaf's odometer reading at purchase?

Mine had 53 miles. I was not happy, but rejecting the car right after the tsunami would have put me back 3 - 4 months.

Leafs at Enterprise Car Rental in San Diego (Balboa Ave)

I already have a Leaf, but I travel to San Diego a lot. How much is the rental on one of these? If it was near a regular vehicle, I'd do it, particularly if Enterprise could get me from Lindbergh to the car location.
