FS: 2015 LEAF S, many upgrades

I keep the attic door open in the garage during the summer. My house is well insulated and the garage faces north, so all these things kept the garage around 80-85°F even during the day. I also parked in the parking garage at work so that was cool as well. I was very particular about trying to...

FS: 2015 LEAF S, many upgrades

Forgot to mention that one of the keyfobs never worked remotely, but worked via RFID. Full disclosure.

FS: 2015 LEAF S, many upgrades

I liked the i-MiEV for what it was: A rear-motor, rear-wheel drive short-distance commuter. No real creature comforts; no sound insulation, etc., but surprisingly fun to drive. Got me hooked on EVs, so it couldn't be THAT bad. ;) Transport to NY from Dallas is probably around $1300... Just...

Fair enough. Let's start at $9500.

FS: 2015 LEAF S, many upgrades

Hi everyone. It's time for my LEAF to move to another caring, loving, enthusiast home. Here's what I'm selling: 2015 LEAF S, gun metal gray, purchased October 2014. 12-bar battery, as the car was garaged at home and at work. Just shy of 47K miles. * Upgraded horn (an absolute must, and my...

    Full charge or not?

I just charge it full. I'm over 41K miles in Dallas, Texas (hot climate) and still have 12 bars. I interpret Nissan's instructions to just charge the car and not worry about it. The manual then outlines best-practices, and none of them have anything to do with short-charging your car.

    New Leaf 22kw home charge?

The LEAF "S" model without quick charging will accept 3.3kW charge power. With the quick charge package, it will accept 6kW charge power. 22kW would be nice, but just not available on the LEAF for a 240VAC feed.

GCR: Appreciating the i-MiEV: oldest modern electric car still in production after 10 years

You can get *lightly* used i-MiEV for around $8000. They're an amazing bargain. Yeah, the car is quite spartan, but with rear-motor and rear-wheel-drive, it drives nicely. Driving almost exclusively in the city, I was able to get around 80-85 miles of range on a full charge (16kWh battery).

Tips for Buying a Used EV

Maybe things have changed since ChargePoint posted this tweet: Who Has The World's Biggest EV Charging Network? Trigger Warning: It Ain't Tesla: https://t.co/3UXaNrDt93 pic.twitter.com/DR8RYnM2Wz — ChargePoint (@ChargePointnet) September 15, 2016 Even though this tweet was deleted...

    Lizard Pack Holding Up

As of my last LEAFSpy reading, I'm at SOH = 90.47% and Hx = 83.44%. I'll be at 33,000 miles later today and am still showing all 12 bars.

The Best, Least-Known Tips & Tricks

That's a good question. I usually read the owner's manual cover to cover, but somehow -- if it's in the manual -- I missed it. :D

Tips for Buying a Used EV

I already have. I removed the ChargePoint license plate holder from my car and canceled my account too. When they started trashing Tesla for their chargers, that struck a nerve with me. It's not "us vs. them"; it's us vs. the anti-environmentalists.

The Best, Least-Known Tips & Tricks

My favorite "least-known trick" is the unlock button on the rear hatch. At least on my 2015, there are two buttons for the rear hatch. The wider one unlocks the hatch, but a smaller one to the right works the same as the door unlock button.

Seattle Leaf Repair (High Voltage Leak)?

The diagnosis sounds a lot like someone saying you're low on blinker fluid. In other words, they're bulls--tting you. $12K for repairs for a car that is worth maybe $6K is absurd. What is the issue you're experiencing with your vehicle, and maybe some of us arm chair mechanics can assist...

Nema 14-30 Outlet for 2018 Leaf

If you don't mind the slower charging, I've been using a 14-30 for charging my LEAF for two years. I use a Clipper Creek LCS-25 since my car doesn't have quick charging. It just depends on how fast you want to charge and how much you want to spend.

    Leaf for driving school

From another angle: Beginning drivers might be really confused by the LEAF. Its user interface (the shifter puck) is significantly different. The car makes no idle noise. These are things that *experienced* drivers are confused about. I worry about inexperienced drivers who then get into their...

    2015 S won’t dial my contacts

You have to press the Phone button on the steering wheel, press again to skip the prompts, then say "Call xxxxxx". Make sure you allowed the car to access your contact during the Bluetooth paring phase.

    totaled leaf with good battery

I was thinking the same thing. A new liftgate, new bumper cover, and new taillights and you've got a car that's in great shape.
