Rationalizing the purchase of a used Leaf

Right, if something major happened to my Accord today, it would be a lot easier to rationalize!

Rationalizing the purchase of a used Leaf

Calc like yours would have me running to get that Leaf! Unfortunately, mine would be about 3x higher per month for 5 years of ownership. So, it does take some rationalization!

Rationalizing the purchase of a used Leaf

I guess I've been very lucky with my Accord that to date had not needed any major repairs (knock on wood), but even so, last night the "Change oil" light went on and I know that'll be $60 out of my pocket - the money I could potentially apply to an EV purchase. Heck I could have saved...

Rationalizing the purchase of a used Leaf

I honestly hope it's not wishful thinking, and only time will tell how useful a 10-yo Leaf will be. On the other hand, if I want a used 2014 Leaf to serve me for 10 years - I won't know until 2027! Imagine, what kind of cars we'll have by then!!! Perpetually self-charging solar electric ones...

Rationalizing the purchase of a used Leaf

Shopping for a 2014-2015 Leaf with 12 bars and under 30K miles. Supposing I end up buying it, what's going to happen after 3-5 years when the battery life comes to an end? Is this a throwaway purchase? There will be no resale or trade-in value left if the battery is dying. The only outcome I...

Thanks, alozzy, will think about importing myself. I'd, of course, like to expend the minimum effort and still get exactly what I want, haha.

Looking at the 2014 Leaf SV

Thanks, that eases my worry a little bit. Also, I forgot to mention that the brake pad wear on the Leaf I'm considering is about 60-70% on front, and 50-60% on rear (although may be the other way around, my salesman can't remember). Is this too much wear for this car? I can't imagine anyone...

Looking at the 2014 Leaf SV

Hello, I am shopping for a used Leaf in Vancouver, Canada. Several dealerships here import lease returns from the US and "sort of" pass on the more or less reasonable prices to us Canadians. The car I am considering at the moment seems alright - 2014 Leaf SV Premium with around 27K miles and...

Greater Vancouver - anyone willing to lend an OBDII dongle for a couple of days?

Another idea: I have Amazon Prime (amazon.ca) and would not mind spending a few bucks to get the dongle here FAST. The problem is - which one? Will any of these work with LeafSpy? Also, some of them seem to work with Torque, but will Torque give me the info on Leaf's battery...

Greater Vancouver - anyone willing to lend an OBDII dongle for a couple of days?

I am shopping for a used Leaf in the area and have to take the seller's word for the battery readings. Is anyone here willing to lend me their OBDII dongle for a couple of days this week so I could confirm what they say before I commit to buy? I can travel to pick up pretty much anywhere in the...
