Considering a 2018 or a 2019 Leaf, but I'm concerned about my 96 mile round trip up and down a mountain.

I have always lived atop a very tall Mountain. Keep in mind Regen is your Friend. When I leave i have about 35 miles range on my 2011 LEAF with only 7 bars. When I get home i have about 7 miles Range left on the GOM. By the time i drive down my 2000 foot above sea level hill to town i am at...

Amperage to charge for Level 2

You need to size that Service Breaker to what your evse dock requires. Most will want a 30 amp breaker for a Level 2 EVSE. Look at the Tag on the EVSE dock and provided that Breaker size. anything else will be a fire hazard and your Insurance on your home will not cover a fire etc if you under...

and this here at Auto Zone.. If you have no other use then they also make simple 12 volt testers that light up. But here is a good cheap multi meter. https://www.autozone.com/test-scan-and-specialty-tools/multimeter/p/innova-hands-free-digital-multimeter/64471_0_0

    2023 dead at the airport.

As we have said week 12 volt battery. the LEAF only feeds Voltage to the 12 volt at the start of the traction pack charge cycle . So as we have said your 12 volt will slowly die if you leave it for a week or so without a trickle charge attached. If you leave it plugged in to an EVSE dock it...

    2023 dead at the airport.

its not a bug. the EVSE dock takes a pilot signal from the 12 volt battery in the leaf to tell the EVSE dock that car is there and ready for a charge. Anytime you leave your car plugged in to an EVSE Dock for more than a day it will slowly Drain the 12 volt battery as that never shuts off...

    2023 dead at the airport.

Your 12 volt is dead. If you leave it plugged in to a EVSE dock it will after a few days discharge your 12 volt battery. Regardless just gets some voltage to your 12 volt battery and you shoudl be able to then plug in to a EVSE dock to get it charged back up.. Then go replace the 12 volt.

How often do you drive without ECO?

Always on here.. my 2011 has a GOM range now of about 30 miles. i have about 45,000 on the odo.. I think Eco and Charging to 80% on weekdays has helped now if Nissan would treat us right for getting the pack past 10 years with no issues would be great. Sadly I am about to sell mine for Scrap...

Nissan "Out-of-Warranty" support for battery pack degradation

IT did this over 12 years.. not sure where you got the idea of 1 year. Sadly now though Nissan Lied to all of us in 2011 when they said we could easily and affordably replace our Traction Pack. The cost went from 3500, 6500, 8500 now up to 15,000 and my Leaf is now in need of a new pack...

Safe to use battery maintainer on 12V?

Yup, been doing it since 2011. I leave the Battery maintainer on it anytime i am going to be away for more than a few days. And in that Case i Disconnect it from the EVSE dock after the Traction Pack is fully charged. It will not cause an issue if you leave the 12 volt maintainer plugged in...
