I've been following this forum on and off for years and years. It seems like the interest and enthusiasm in the Leaf has died down a little bit. Nissan doesn't seem to be aggressively promoting the sale of the Leaf anymore. There is general discontent with battery compatibility throughout the...
I have an old 2003 Honda CRV that is high mileage but still working reliably. I also have a deposit on the Tesla Model 3 that I don't expect delivery until 2019 at the earliest.
We only drive about 2-3 miles a day, and on the weekends it is variable but definitely less than like 50 miles a day...
When we had our Ford Focus EV, we had the one car seat and it felt a little tight. I think the interior of the Leaf is a bit better (especially the trunk) since it isn't a converted ICE. Does anyone have it with 2 car seats? Can an adult still sit in the back with 2 car seats?
Thanks!
Has this happened to anyone? Today I went to go park and all the electric spaces were taken. I was able to park next to one of the cars and I decided to leave a note on their car to plug me in once they were finished. (The charging is free).
On a whim, I checked to see if they were finished...
The problem with having another meter is that when you get solar, you can't have the solar you generate subtract from both the house meter + the EVSE meter.
What do you mean regarding the rates changing? Is there some announced plan about how net metering will change and that will affect how much money they will give you for the electricity you generate?
I have read rumors about it, but nothing really concrete. It changes the ROI on a solar...
I am buying 125 ft of 6 gauge 6/3 cable.
So it seems like I can have the neutral come through, but not wire it to the receptacle if I choose to have a 6-50 instead of a 14-50. Sounds good! I can let the electrician know.
Thanks for the quick reply. It definitely seems like most of them are NOT 14-50. The only people I see talking about 14-50 are the Tesla guys.
I thought that 14-50 was more common? Both for welding and also for RV parks.
I was originally planning on getting a Siemens VersiCharge, but the Siemens is a 6-50P.
I plan on installing a 14-50R since it seems more future proof. Does anyone have a recommendation on a good EVSE that has a 14-50P?
Thanks!
I drive about 60 miles a day and I have used the standard 120v EVSE for about a year now. Maybe once a week or so, I will "top off" at an L2 EVSE like chargepoint for 45min to an hour or so.
I would have gotten the L2 EVSE at home long ago, but my electric panel is on the opposite side of the...
I think calling is a little intrusive. I much prefer the asynchronous communication /privacy of texting.
I understand why you wouldn't want to spend 25 cents per spam text several times a month though.
