2018 Leaf Owners in Hot Climates?

I live in Utah, so that can be considered a relatively warm climate. My 2018 LEAF SV 40kwh is down to 88% and the range have dropped noticeably. I did a range test the other day and got 68 miles at 75 mph. That's 100% down to 3%. By the way, 75 mph is our speed limits out here, and most cars are...

Nissan dealer tells me to buy Tesla

I've been a very long time supporter of Nissan LEAF. In short, I owned two 2011, 2013, 2015, and currently own two 2018 LEAFs. I recently went in to see if the dealer can solve the problem with a very slow charging on CHAdeMO on one of my LEAFs. Basically, it never goes over 24 kW no matter the...

    RapidGate Fix?

Finally tested "the fix". It does improve charging some, but you still get limited pretty severely. I think they just moved up the curve. In the past, being in a hot climate, I would get limited on my first charge to something like 30kw, and down to 15kw or less on subsequent charges. Now I get...

    RapidGate Fix?

I just got the update installed on my 2018 LEAF. Dealer's receipt states that "customer is requesting we complete update for battery NTB19056" It is not a recall, so you have to ask for it by name (at least this was the case at my dealership). I will report shortly after I had a chance to do...

Please Report 2018 - 2020 Leaf Defects Here

OK, thanks. Any additional ideas as to what to ask them to look at?

Please Report 2018 - 2020 Leaf Defects Here

So I am not even sure how to describe my issue. It rarely happens, perhaps a couple of times per month. When I make a slow left turn I suddenly hear this sound that is like a sound door stop spring makes when you release it. Am I going crazy? It is loud and causes the car to vibrate a bit.

    Where are all the Leaf's?

LEAFs were super popular around Salt Lake City area few years ago. They are still here, but now they are totally outnumbered by Teslas, especially Model 3. I have both 2018 LEAF and Model 3, so I notice when I see either one. The other day I counted 4 Teslas in less than a minute. I've never...

    Full charge or not?

There is just no practical way to charge my 2018 LEAF to anything less than 100%. Unlike my Tesla, LEAF does not offer any way to limit charge level. Also, due to it's limited range, I told my wife and my daughter (who both drive the LEAF) to plug it in as soon as they got home and not to use...

Owning a 2018 Leaf in Colorado

I now have almost a full year on my 2018 LEAF (got it early Feb of 2018). My SOH is down to 94%. It dropped fast in the summer, winter degradation is much slower. I charge to 100% every night. The LEAF is driven by my wife and daughter, I don't want to mess with 80% charge or anything like that...

    The 40KWH Battery Topic

So, at what point will I be able to get a replacement battery under warranty? Is it 66% SOH or some other number? At the rate I am going, I would imagine I will hit 66% in 2-3 years.

    The 40KWH Battery Topic

I am located in Salt Lake City area, and had my 2018 LEAF since February. I am currently at 14k miles and 94.73 SOH. Has anyone dropped their first bar on 2018 LEAF? When can I expect for my first bar to go? At around 92%? I figure at the current rate I should be at around 20k miles and 90 SOH...

Fastest Net Travelling Speed for the 2018 LEAF

I live in Utah, so for me even my first QC of the day is capped at 22-27 kW (at least during the summer). Perhaps winter months will result in an improvement in my charge rates, so here is one plus of it getting cooler every day...

National Drive Electric Week Event "No TMS 2019"

So I am guessing that they will release 2019 LEAF this fall (unchanged from 2018 model), and then sometime in Q2/Q3 of 2019 they will release bigger battery version as 2020 model year. Everything seems to point in that direction.

New 40 kWh pack as replacement for 24 kWh pack

Hi guys, I know that this video is in Russian, but worth looking at for those who can understand what he is saying: https://youtu.be/t2QdPbgbSdA For the rest of you, here is a summary: -- This guy previously swapped 30 kWh pack into a 24 kWh LEAF. It did not work initially, but after he also...

Possible Widespread 2018-19 Traction Battery Quick Charge Problems

I just got off the phone with 877-664-2738 and I can tell you that at least they do not care AT ALL that the charge rates suck. They argue that it is normal and that Nissan does not promise any specific charge rate. I asked them why 2016 leaf pulls more power that 2018, and they could care less...
