My recent experience. -
2012 Leaf - exiting freeway and coasting. At 25mph hit brakes to slow for right hand bend. Brakes completely locked up, no ABS "chatter," just complete lock up. The car slid straight and into the end of a guard barrier.
Car totaled, no injuries. Airbags work.
There is no "opt-out" form. You have to send a letter in order to opt out. You can get the address and how to opt out at

Unlike securities class actions, almost all class actions are...
Anyone have a link to the opt out information? My postcard seems to have been misplaced.
Thanks.
Never mind - found it!

10. How can I exclude myself from the settlement?
To exclude...
We should all just opt out of the settlement. Nissan will still provide the warranty and we will still have options if there are further degradation issues.
Call tire shops first. I'm up in Marin and NO tire shop carries the right tires for our cars. I've had 3 flats and it takes 1-2 days for them to order and ship a tire each time.

They haven't started on battery swapping yet. Should be the next thing. Be interesting to see how fast a pit crew could swap out 4 tires and a battery.
If you think that the settlement is not favorable you can always OPT OUT when you receive the Notice.
I intend to opt out as this is simply a gift to Nissan and the ILG attorneys who filed the case.
ILG - representing "us," the owners, is under investigation for unethical conduct and...
Tesla is already selling more than the Volt or the Leaf.

You shouldn't be that shocked. The first LEAF appeared in San Francisco in December 2010 to great promises of L3 chargers all over the city. 2 1/4 years later - there is still not a SINGLE L3 charger in all of SF.
EV manufacturers are killing off their own product by not creating a trail of...
Highly unlikely - the market is now flooded with used and barely used Leaf's and with the price drop on a new one anyone with a 2011 or 2012 "early" lease will never be able to sell for the payoff amount. You would take a large hit trying that.
