QC stations.. actually i did not know that! Though if they only come with a monthly plan I don't think
it would have been an option for me.
Did I consider the Prius? yes actually my other car is a 2011 Prius. I considered the Camry Hybrid but not the Prius
because even though the mileage is...
I've watched (with some amount of amusement and a small amount of chagrin :? ) the responses to my original post. Mixed with the cogent and well thought out comments are the "defend the Leaf under all circumstances" responses that Clippy referred to.
Lets all remember that the purpose of my...
Well folks, it came down to this. After losing one bar 10 days ago we began a frantic
search for what our next step should be. I'd like to share my thoughts with other Leaf fans
on MNL.
1. Spoke with several other site members from Phoenix and Dallas that had also lost capacity.
2. Took my car...
Well I took my vehicle in to my dealership today for retesting (I knew what their response was going to be but I wanted
to go through the motions anyway before I called the Nissan Leaf Hotline). Predictably they didn't even understand what I
was trying to tell them.
1. First response - you lost...
In response to an earlier question, our driveway is only one car wide so we never park on the driveway
because the 2nd car cant get through. Like I said previously the car has been garaged consistently.
In response to a question:
The car is garaged. It is rarely out of the garage for more than 2-3 hrs at a time.
Its primarily used to pick up and drop of our son at school, trips to the grocery store
etc. Our garage door is insulated and today for example its 102F outside
and 85F in the garage.
Another battery loss to report.
Purchased: May 1,2011
Leaf SL
Lost one battery capacity bar today (6/24/2012)
Mileage: 13,105
Last battery check: March 2012 (excellent report)
Charging/Driving habits:
Driven about 40miles a day on weekdays, longer drives on weekends.
Charged to 80% almost...
I have in fact tried the commute. I've been driving hybrids for the last 10 years
and definitely know how to squeeze the most range out of the car. Going at 60,
with the AC set to 70, I had 6 miles left ....wayyyy too close for comfort.
Thanks again for all the responses....mitch672 actually I'd jump at the opportunity to trade for a Prius V if
not for the fact that I'd be looking for something with fewer miles on it :(
As far as getting 2 110V lines to make a 220V L2 outlet, all that is moot if I cant even get there one way...
Thanks for all the input:
1. I live in a Dallas TX suburb....public transportation is not an option:)
2. I do have the upgraded L1/L2 charger from Ingineer. The only option
of charging at work is L1.
3. The real issue is the range. My experience over this summer closely matches
the range...
My worst nightmare scenario is suddenly becoming a possibility....I got my Leaf SL in April
and due to a job change I might be in a situation where I have to commute to a location
that is 60 miles away....and in TX there are no L3 stations yet and no immediate plans
to build them.
So forum...
Starting SOC : 100%
Range (till battery low) : 70 (16 left)
Range (till turtle) :
Driving : 60 miles out of the 70 were on the highway. Always ECO mode, cruise control set at 60mph
Climate : This morning in Dallas Temp 62-65 deg. No climate control.
NOT very encouraging!
From what I'm seeing...
