    2014 Cabin Filter Change

Ok, done! For the 2014, forget the glove compartment, just do it from the bottom. Filter cover is black and just like the white one. Was easy to get off - no broken clips. Lots of bugs and stuff in, glad I did it in 12 months. Put the bottom cover back on and all set for another year. Time to...

    2014 Cabin Filter Change

I think they do recommend 1 yr/12 months. Some say that's too often. Here in NC we get lots of pollen in spring and I change them out about 1/yr. I tried 18months in my other car and it was very dirty. The Leaf gets more daily driving than the others.

    Cheap Way to get batteries?

http://hackaday.com/2015/04/29/jay-turns-over-a-new-leaf-scores-batteries/ Maybe this could be an alternate way to get 'newer' batteries for an aging Leaf. Buy a wrecked car for the battery. According to his blog, you can pick up a wrecked one for $3500-$5000. Then sell off the still good parts...

Thanks! I'll try from under the glove compartment and see if that helps.

    2014 Cabin Filter Change

Having had the Leaf for a year, I want to change the cabin filter. I did a search and found the thread showing how to do it (http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?t=13113&f=27" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) and what a PITA the clip is. So I bought the Nissan Cube filter and...

    Owner serviceable batteries?

So I found this write up where a guy repaired his Camry Hybrid battery pack: http://imgur.com/gallery/j8Bcp/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Is the Leaf's battery modular like this and owner serviceable? I imagine it'd be a challenge to remove the pack. Maybe replacing a bad cell...

From 0% SOC/Turtle Shutdown to Drive Again

so I can confirm it's 7% GID. I ran out of juice on the way to work and thankfully was able to coast (the Leaf goes into N after turtle mode) near a building that had a 110v outlet that was hot. Had to push it 20' (with the help of a LEO) and plugged in. Took about 2hrs from nothing to...

    Leafy, we hardly knew ye....

30 days was spent wrangling with the insurance company and hoping they would total lit. 40 days spent actual repair - maybe 2 weeks of that waiting for parts then another week troubleshooting codes (finally sent it to Nissan to replace some airbag sensor)

    Leafy, we hardly knew ye....

Ok, long delay. I apologize. Leafy has been repaired! Looks just like new (will post a pic when I get it washed). It was done about two months ago. The only real negative is that I lost the 'new car smell' and it smelled like paint for a couple of days. But otherwise everything seems to be...

    Leafy, we hardly knew ye....

because they are unibody the frame as well. It will show up as 'serious frame damage' on the carfax reports :(

    Leafy, we hardly knew ye....

I was trying, but they only buy it if it's totaled. Which it is no  Not too often I hope for a big battery problem, but I am in this case! :P

    Leafy, we hardly knew ye....

Ok, I know it's been awhile, but time for an update. Looks like damage is $15k, so they are fixing it. I can't get them to total it. This is sad. Under NC law, I may be able to get 'diminishment of value' from Geico. I'm thinking of trading it in for a 2015 when I get it, but I have a bad...

Leaf does not go into drive after accident

It was the result of an accident. See above post.
