Supposedly the Fenix guy is coming out with video NLT Sunday that "answers all the questions". Will be good to get some new info. Rooting for them, but still skeptical. I don't even have an old Leaf (I have 2018) but might pick one up if I can get one cheap and the Fenix deal works out.

I monitor their Twitter daily. Would love more news. I could easily see myself picking up a used Leaf to go with my 2018.

A little follow-up..... it's crossed my mind periodically to pick up a used 2016/2017 with the 30kWH battery. If I did, can I just use the charge cable/EVSE that came with my 2018?

Best I can figure out, it's not there. My solution if I want it is Android Auto.

Had our 2018 for almost a month and a bit over 1,000 miles. We put over 39,000 miles in close to 3 years on our 24Kwh Lizard replacement battery without losing a bar. So we "took a chance" on the 2018 without TMS. Dislikes are pretty small. Wish the NAV displayed ETA. Wish the steering...

In the end, we had an electrician come out and install a 50 Amp line. But, as our last electrician said our board was "maxed out", so we sprung for a totally new board with lots of free space for any future projects like solar.

I much prefer to see my estimated time of arrival, rather than minutes till arrival. I did not see a way to change that. Did I miss it, or just not there?

All I know about electricity is not to lick my fingers and stick them in a socket.... But I think I figured out from reading the thread, that the second number on the plug means the amps. So a 14-50 means a 50 amp line.

We have a guy scheduled to come in. JUst wanted to make sure it had to be 50 to fully use the supplied 240 cord for the 2018.

Just traded in 2012 for 2018. I have an existing 240 volt line that I used with my 2012 with a modified EVSE. It's either a 20 amp or 30 amp line. Can I use that line (once an electrician modifies the plug), or do I need a 50 amp line?

I appreciate your reply. We did buy a new one. I had been teetering on the brink, and the wife got a raise Friday.... I had already received a replacement battery and got 34 months and over 39,000 miles on the Lizard version, and had not lost a bar yet, But I have almost 88,000 miles on it...

Is there a button sequence to check the 12v battery too? I may look that up. On the other hand, the wife (it's her car), wanted to see the new 2018. We just got back and have appt tomorrow. We were going to wait for 2019 + version but.....
