Thanks
Just talked to a local company in Houston that said they only sell reconditioned batteries for hybrid but not for all electric cars
I said why and they said the money is in hybrid batteries not in all electric car batteries
I said why
but she did not answer
do you guys know why...
I apologize for my mess
I was trying to say which I had to mention in the beginning, does Nissan Leaf have similar batteries?
My goal is to get a used cheap electric car, these cars will probably have an almost dead battery. The intention was to replace it with a reconditioned cheap battery...
I saw the below article talking about a company which sells reconditioned EV batteries for $800 with 1 year warranty

Does it make sense to buy a used...
25 miles range?
I will pass on this car. But I am wondering who would buy this? Maybe hard bargain and drop the price to $6K and then pay another $5K for brand new battery?
Total cost say $11K, the question is does it worth it?
I wish i can find a usedeaf with free battery replacement
Just to correct my math
Operational cost would be,; 100k miles for $5,500 = 5.5 cents per mile
3 miles per kwh driving means 1/3 cent per mile
One tank takes me 300 miles with 10 gallon gas which is $20
300x (0.055+0.0033)=~$16
Currently I can find a 2012 Nissan Leaf for $9K. I am not sure about the battery condition but assume it needs to be replaced for $5,500 with a 100K miles warranty
My electricity cost is 1 cent/kwh ( I am on a plan 1000-1500kwh for 1 cent per kwh) and battery cost is 5.5 cents per kwh
Total...
Yes that is a zipcode I am nearby Houston so back and forth to 77056, it is 25 miles each way 12.5 miles
But Houston has terrible climate I am not sure how terrible will this be on the battery
Looking at ebay now and amazed with several used leafs under 12K. So even though the batteries are...
What are your daily driving needs in terms of miles? How much city vs. highway? Will you have the ability to charge at your work/destinations?
Daily commute to work every business day so back and forth it will be 25 miles 99% highway
Add another 20 miles a week for other stuff. Again 99%...
Thanks for the questions
The free charger is located in wholefoods in 77056
also, I am planning to charge it at home and this wholefoods is 10miles away from home
