A quick update...hope everyone is enjoying the $200 EV credit this summer and it has been a warm and humid summer here in San Diego and southern CA.
Had an online chat with SDGE representative yesterday that the EV credit can be carried forward to next year.
So it is possible to off set...
I have to chime in here.
I have a feeling that Nissan is trying everything and anything they can to prevent the market from being flooded with used LEAFs.
There is a lot of cars coming off lease in the next 6-9 months. Look at the sales in mid to late 2014.
What I have discovered with 2015 LEAF S 24 kwH battery is keep it under 40 miles for 80% to 20% battery discharges.
So it takes a little planning with Nissan LEAF EZ-Charge app to do it.
The way I see EV is a lot like cell phones. With each year expect the battery range to increase, similar to cell phone features gets better.
Our Nissan Leaf is a lot like Samsung Galaxy S5, still works, but not the newest or the shiniest when compared with Galaxy S7 Edge or One Plus 3T...
Some EVgo DC quick charger has a timer so it would stop. But some do not, so I set a timer on my cell phone, "Ok, google, set a timer for 29 minutes" just to remind me to unplug before 30 minutes is up.
Once you press stop or unplug on the charging station, then your session of 30 minutes of...
Agree with Duncan here.
As matter of fact, when I leased mine 2 years ago, the dealer was offering us nothing, I mean nothing, in terms of additional services.
These 2 quotes are very different. Before CA rebate, the first quote would be $9807 ($208.78 x 35 months and $2500 down) and the second quote would be $6965 ($99 x 35 months and $3500 down) for the total payments in 3 years. The dealer must be playing with capitalized cost and residual value.
I have been leasing the current LEAF for almost 2 years now. Initially, I did not receive the NCTC card due to that the dealer was not a participating dealership (In Riverside County, CA).
So I was checking with NCTC website intermittently and 2 months ago the NCTC card has been approved. I...
For those live in the area served by SDG&E, there is a climate credit of at least $50 on your bill.
I believe this is in addition to the usual California Climate Credit. So the credit can be used to offset electricity charges.

That is an awesome deal! Congratulations!
One thing I noticed that the residual value after 2 years is ONLY $12,000 range! Right now on my 3-year lease, the residual value is close to $13,000 when I return the car next year.
Absolutely, I would.
I probably won't negotiate from the residual then down. Because we all have different residual value based on the lease payment.
I think a more fair way to negotiate from everyone's perspective is what is the current value of the car? Because in 3 months time that...
I also received a call from the dealership today. They are also offering to allow me to buy the car today but we did discuss the possibility of a purchase price of 2015 S with QC for $9000. This is close what everyone else is offering $5000 discount.
Initially, the dealer was allowing me to...
