The garage door wouldn't normally be used while the car is charging because there is only one car that would be going in and out of the garage.
She can be instructed to not charge and do laundry at the same time. It would be easy to avoid those issues if the car can be set automatically charge...
It would be in a garage that only has a washer and gas dryer and the garage door opener.
As long as the washing machine isn't in use, there should be nothing else on that circuit while charging.
The house is about 30 years old.
I was also checking other used cars with under 100K miles under $7000 and these are what come up the most:
Ford Fiesta
Fiat 500/500e
Chevy Spark
Chevy Sonic
Chrysler 200
Nissan Versa
Nothing that looks particularly attractive or reliable.
There are some other random cars, but those seem to be...
I know a retired person who needs a transportation car in the Los Angeles area to get groceries, visit the doctor and do various errands within a 20 mile range from home. They only have an 110V outlet to charge with and will not be able to afford getting a 220V outlet installed and then buying...
Doesn't EVgo also limit QC sessions to 30 minutes? So, if you still need more charging, you have to go back and restart it after 30 minutes plus pay an additional $4.95 for a new session.
Most people don't have a $10K incentive available to them on top of the $7500 tax credit. Many don't even qualify for the entire $7500 federal credit.
I think used values will remain very low for this generation of Leaf as the very short range current EVs with quickly degrading batteries will...
I read that only 2015s and newer officially have the lizard batteries, but 2014s and even some 2013s might have the lizard batteries.
Is there any way to check if a specific 2014 is one of the ones with the better battery?
110 is not normal, but it's possible on "hottest days of the year." Maybe 5 days of the year would be that hot
A "typical" summer day is 90-95 degrees max, but there are always several days over 100 every year.
I would be driving about 11 miles to work (5 miles on highway and 6 miles on surface...
Is driving and parking the vehicle in the sun on very hot days a big problem for battery degredation or is it just a problem to charge the battery while it's very hot?
We get very hot and sunny summer days where I live and work, but I would normally be charging the battery during early morning...
Too bad.
Is there any reason an aftermarket automatic headlamp switch can't be added to an SV or is the wiring for the lights non-standard in a way to make installing something like the kit below not work?

Yes, I know the battery has to degrade some amount as they are used. All batteries lose capacity over time including the batteries in other EVs.
The issue is that it seems the Leaf batteries are degrading too much too fast compared to other EV batteries of similar age and number of charge...
Too bad the degradation problem still isn't really solved. At least the 30kWh warranty lets you get a replacement after it drops under 70% in less than 8 years, but I would rather the battery just stay over 90% long term. 70% of a 100 mile range (that's really more like less than 80 miles if...
