    Failed ball joint

That's scary. My '12 is still on its original set, but I'll rotate the tires and check them this weekend. Thx.

    Towing a Trailer

Insane. At that weight, the trailer is going to be driving the car.

Goodbye Leaf, Hello Bolt Thanks to Carvana

I just saw a dealer estimate for a 70,000 mile Bolt replacement battery. $29,000, start to finish.

Touch screen opens and closes by itself

I just used a screwdriver and while putting downward pressure on the sd, twisted it with pliers.

    any advice on tire replacement?

I've never put new tires on my Leaf, and with the cost of tires now won't put new on the rest of my fleet-- $2k a set for my Cummins. I always find great, cheap tires on CL or FB. Of all the different tires I have driven on the Leaf, I have never noticed a change in range or road noise, even...

    Jack points

@rdaught If you routinely rotate your tires-- I do, for 5 rigs, just get a second jack, preferably a good floor jack. Even better, two floor jacks. Just rotated my tires yesterday-- jacking up an entire side makes it quick and easy.

    Rear wheel tyres wearing

Are you the first owner? Was thinking maybe the tire was damaged, replaced with the same tire brand, but had more mileage, and then you bought the car. If somebody bought my Leaf, they'd be wondering wtf, because one of my tires was bought used, and is worn more than the others.

    Radio/navigation issues

Did you clean the screen recently? Never spray liquid directly on the screen. If this caused the issue, in my experience, Nissan will just tell you that you need a new unit for a couple thousand bucks. Or you can take it apart and clean the fluid residue off the ribbons behind the buttons. I...

Where can mice enter the cabin on a Leaf

You might check the firewall material under the hood. I had to take that off to get a family of mice out of there. I've trapped them from stem to stern. Once one was sticking his nose through that slit where the seatbelt is.

    Is Annual Service Required

Skip. Waste of money. Sure, rotate your tires. Brake fluid-- skip. You're not going to die; your car won't need thousands in brake repair. My Leaf is going on 9 years-- same brake fluid. Two Cummins pickups-- 20 years each. Chevy SUV-- 17 years. Dodge SUV-- 19 years. Boat with surge...

    short life of key-fob battery

My fob never leaves the car, as I live in a low crime area. Haven't changed the battery for almost a couple years. I agree with what leftie wrote about Chinese batteries. Bought a dozen cr123 that were worthless right out of the package.

    Apparent Air Conditioning Failure

The clutch on the compressor is probably toast. That means all the AC components will need to be replaced. That's what always happens to my AC anyway. Consider running your AC periodically through winter for a few minutes. I redid the entire AC system on my dodge cummins-- wasn't too...

DTC C1A66 0109 Master pressure sensor (replacement)

Perhaps test the new sensor and see if it working properly. I've had new, out of the box parts not work from the get-go. Was watching a youtube vid from Scotty Kilmer-- he had a couple new alternators not work. I had an abs issue on a '01 durango-- the light wouldn't go out after I replaced...

Broken Nissan Leaf: T/M system malfunction

I was having odd issues with my '12. I didn't want to just run out and get another battery, even though my load tester gave a questionable result. So I hooked my old battery charger to the battery cables, put it on 12v-- and the problem went away. So, it was time for a new battery. They...
