As you consider future legislation promoting electric vehicles, I hope you take the following issue into consideration as you communicate with your various legislators.
The biggest barrier to people purchasing an electric vehicle is range anxiety. Newer EVs have sufficient range to make that no...
I have been told by Nissan that the new 30kWh battery in the 2016 Leaf does not have the battery warmer, but they would not tell me why it was removed. I live in Minnesota, so I find this lack of information disturbing. Does anyone know why that feature has been removed?
My map update just magically appeared today. The tracking page still shows no information.
The map (third try) actually installed with no errors this time. I also verified that the major interstate extension that was missing on the original map (but was around form 12-18 months before I bought...
I ordered the new map on June 26. On July 1, I received an email saying that the item had shipped and giving a tracking number for FedEx.
I just called this afternoon (July 3) since the tracking page shows no progress (not even an estimated arrival date).
The Navteq guy told me they had...
Nissan officially claims updates are done every 12-18 months. But the map on my 2012 Leaf (when I bought it in June 2012) was already 18 - 24 months out of date (a major interstate extension is missing). I imagine the new map will already be 6 - 12 months out of date now that it has been delayed...

I received my replacement and also got a blue screen. When I called I actually got a person on the line who was willing to have me send in the photo of the screen (a big step up from the first guy). A few days later they contacted me with prepaid return shipping and said they would be in touch...
I took the car and map update to my dealer. They confirmed that the SD card was defective. Now I need to wait for the card to get back to Navteq so that they will send a replacement. Then I try again.
I submitted all that information to Navteq. The blue screen echos most of the data I sent, but it is not clear if it is grabbing it from the car or the disk. I will be very interested to hear from the other person who had a dealer appointment today. My appointment is late next week.
I know here has been some discussion on getting software upgrades and even an upgrade to B-mode for older Leafs. I think Nissan should be providing an upgrade path for some of the hardware improvements.
More specifically, I don't think it would be too difficult to re-engineer a replacement for...
