    53kw CATL Upgrade on 2013 Leaf S

Thank you for the information. In 2011, when I bought my first Leaf, I thought that part of the plan for Nissan would be to have a well planned strategy to upgrade and replace battery packs as they aged...turned out I was wrong. However, it's good to see that there is energy being expended by at...

$7,500 Fed Tax Credit CHANGES in 2023 BIG TIME

Actually, it's an indirect pass thru to the car maker; The incentives allow them to add an additional premium to the car price. When I purchased my 2011 Leaf in 2011, I paid $19k, net out the door, after collecting for all the incentives.

Amperage to charge for Level 2

And, this is what I recommend for the latest generation Leaf, 2018-2024. A professionally designed and installed circuit protected by a 50 amp circuit breaker, using #6 wire and terminated in a nema 14-50 connector. I use the supplied portable EVSE and the 14-50 adapter out of the car as the...

    12v battery replacement recommendations?

Just a little update to keep the discussion going for those with ongoing 12 volt battery issues! At one year my 12 volt LFP replacement battery from Summit is working just fine; however, they no longer list the OHMMU battery unless on special order and that's pretty expensive.

    12v battery replacement recommendations?

I like the characteristics of the LiFePO4 chemistry in this application, i.e., as a 12 volt steady, auxiliary DC power source,; and, it appears the answer to charging below freezing is handled by charging the battery slowly, as described by LefieBiker and bobkart. And, the fact that bobkart has...

    12v battery replacement recommendations?

Agree...as is often the case, cost and profit dictates direction; and, in this case, many makers got it wrong; takes a Tesla/Musk thing to overcome these consequences of clouded judgement and to move more toward the concerns of the people who drive the car.

    12v battery replacement recommendations?

I find it interesting Tesla will no longer uses a 12 volt lead/acid battery; but, has switched to a small 12 volt 7 amp Lithium module that is tendered by their traction battery. So far they have installed them in the Model S and X with updates planned for the remaining models. Perhaps Nissan...

    12v battery replacement recommendations?

My car is located in California and is garaged. The Ohmmu website says: "Tested in extreme climates and automotive conditions for reliability and performance." I think that means it is BMS protected. If low temps are a concern, I would ask if their BMS includes a low Temp Sensor so it doesn't...

    12v battery replacement recommendations?

    12 Volt Battery Lead/Acid Replacement

Yes, Along with carrying a phone in the car, I also bought one of those and added that, a voltmeter, jumper cables and a portable tire pump to an emergency bag I now carry in the booth. I don't like waiting for road service if I can help it.

    12 Volt Battery Lead/Acid Replacement

I drove a 2011 Leaf for 10 years before trading it for a 2019 Leaf S. During that time I had to replace the 12 Volt battery twice, the second one was a sealed AGM type...that's three 12 volt Lead Acid batteries that let me down and wouldn't start the car. Two weeks ago The 2019 car let me down...
