Should I buy a warranty when buying out my leased 2013 Leaf?

Ah, thanks for explaining that. I'm still under warranty until middle of next month and plan to buy out this month so, I'll redo it and see. Weird it starts with original in-service date. Thanks again -- as always this forum is super helpful and a wonderful resource!

Should I buy a warranty when buying out my leased 2013 Leaf?

I'm curious how many miles you have on your car and if the heater issue is mainly on the SV models. I have an S (different heater), and only 9800 miles, and all the bars still. I was going to forgo the warranty until reading your post. Would not like to have any of this happen and be w/out a...

Should I buy a warranty when buying out my leased 2013 Leaf?

As of today (8.5.16), they only offer a 12 month and 24 month $0 deductible. Many more choices for $100 deductible. You got a great deal!

    2016 Lease deals

Wait. You're only putting $2500 down and getting $110/$120 monthly payment? That's a great deal! I have not been quoted such good prices. I'm at lease end next month so shopping around to either re-lease or buy out.

    Winter is hard on range!

SF Bay Area. We got down to 25 at night (cold for us) and the days were in the 30s. I've given up on my heater -- it never gets warm and eats my range terribly. I keep an old down jacket in the car to wrap around my legs, use the heat seaters and steering wheel heater (when I need it), and wear...

Poll: Is your Leaf your daily driver?

YES. My Leaf is my one and only car. The only time I've needed to rent an ICE so far was on Thanksgiving. I had an out of town guest and we were going to my sister's (at the very least 96 miles RT) and we were going to take the scenic route through SF, Golden Gate Park and along Ocean Beach...

Driving through a Christmas lights display, will we make it?

I'm living in the SF Bay Area so take this with a grain of salt. During our recent few days of (for us) freezing cold weather, I've found I can make these long trips if I leave early enough to drive slow and use surface roads more than the freeway, and definitely don't use the heater. I use...

How to set the start charge time on a 2013 S model?

Planet4ever: Thank you so much for making the charging timer so simple and easy to understand. I too was not getting it, and now my car is happily waiting to charge according to it's end time. Yes!

Have a Leaf as your only vehicle?

Thanks Bo, good for you. I don't think 55 mph will work on the freeway here in the Bay Area... I was getting nasty looks going 65 in the right hand slow lane. :-)

Have a Leaf as your only vehicle?

Well... again thanks to all for your input... It's truly appreciated AND, today I became an official Leafer, yikes! Ocean Blue S w/charge pkg. Drove from San Jose to Vallejo, and of course had to charge once. I have many questions that will be presented in other threads and are probably already...

    Carwings capability question

RonDawg & Cwerdna, Thanks for the T-mobile info (I was just on their site) and Virgin (forgot about them) and will check them too. Berlino, I'm in the SF Bay Area. Forgot to include that in my profile. Thanks for chiming in, though. So, the truth of the matter is, having a smartphone is...

    Carwings capability question

Thank you, Cwerdna. Too bad CW is so lacking... I'm online right now looking at data only plans. :-) I hear you re public charging infrastructure and it's good advice. That's what I appreciate about Plugshare -- the comments from users. I definitely do not want to roll into a charging station to...

    Carwings capability question

RonDawg, Once again, thank you for sharing your knowledge. I see having a smartphone would be very convenient, just would prefer avoiding the extra cost. Perhaps I can get by for a while without one and plot my course from home. Eventually I'll know all the charging spots on my regular route &...

Have a Leaf as your only vehicle?

Levenkay, thanks so much for posting your experience. I'm feeling much more certain it will be fine as my only vehicle and yes, as others are saying, the car rental options are many. All the feedback is super helpful, thanks to all.

    Carwings capability question

Hello all, I'm deciding on a Leaf and want to know if Carwings can access Plugshare or find charging stations along my route without a Smartphone. I don't have one (smartphone) and don't really have the need for one, except it would be great to find charging while on the road. That would be my...
