White House petition for more chargers

I would like to thank you guys for taking a look at my petition and posting your thoughts. The main point of this petition was to spark a conversation about electric vehicles and find ways to broaden their acceptance with the public. I didn’t expect to get 100,000 signatures but I did hope...

    80% charge recommendation

Ray, Thank you for the information. Do you or anyone happen to know if there is anything in the Nissan lease agreement that says you have to charge to 80% only or stand by their recommendations etc? I just want to make sure that I'm not going to get hit with some charge or something when I go...

interested in leasing a Leaf in San Antonio, Texas

I appreciate all of the advice. I've actually found that most of the dealerships have several in stock. Ancira Nissan has 4 or so. The problem that i've been having is getting a good lease price. Have you guys found a good dealer in San Antonio that will offer a lease price. There was dealer in...

    80% charge recommendation

I would like to get some more information the 80% charge recommendation. How often are you supposed to only charge to 80%? Nissan states: Avoid sustained high battery state of charge (caused, for example, by frequently charging to 100% state of charge and/or leaving the battery above 80% state...

    National charge network

I'd like to see some more information on this too. There are companies out there that will pay for all of the cost and simply charge for usage. Seems like a pretty easy way to get things installed without having to get business to pay for it one at a time.

    National charge network

Said this a few times but we can't depend on Tesla to give out its technology for free or in a timely manner not to mention getting everyone to adopt it. The car companies have already chosen their connectors so we need to go with what they choose. Otherwise, we are going to get into a bigger...

    National charge network

Perhaps you were simply starting to the conversation too early with the Nissan dealers? I completely agree that they don't know how to sell EVs. Most the sales people that i've spoken to hardly know how to turn it on let alone know anything about how it's supposed to charge and the charging...

    National charge network

Yep it's not magic. 10 kw charger and a larger battery pack sure are nice though. I agree it would be great if the range of the Leaf was 200 miles but it's unfortunately not yet. I'm sure it will be in a few years and the same will go for the other evs out there. Infrastructure still needs to...

    National charge network

Yep everyone else needs to step it up. That's only going to happen if people demand it though. If the companies think that people are happy with a few level 2 chargers and don't demand quick chargers then they won't do it. I love Telsa but they aren't the only game in town.

    National charge network

Sounds like a pretty great solution. It would be nice if everyone would have just decided on one standard quick charge plug a while back so that we didn't have three different types out there. I suppose that's the nature of the business. What does everyone else think?
  11. E

    National charge network

I'm not sure if it will be quite obsolete. Why do you think so? I agree that the Tesla solution is a great one and it would probably be the best solution but we can't depend on that. As you mentioned there is nothing to say that Tesla would give away this technology for free and we don't know...

    National charge network

So what would be your solution?
  13. E

    National charge network

It would be great to be able to charge the Leaf in 5 minutes but that's assuming that Tesla gives away their technology for either free or at a very reasonable price. It also assumes that the other car companies will adopt this technology after they have spent a lot of money investing in the...

    National charge network

I love the Tesla superchargers but I see a couple of issues with this technology for everyone else. 1. it realizes on another company to license the technology and it requires that all the other companies purchase it. 2. the CHAdeMO has already been adopted by the major car brands so why...

    San Antonio EV meetup

I came across this. http://www.meetup.com/San-Antonio-Electric-Cars/?a=wm1&rv=wm1&ec=wm1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Are there any Leaf owners here from San Antonio, Texas?
