    Nissan shutting out third-party apps

As irritating as this is, the LEAF app at least works. They fixed the login problem they initially had. So sorry about all the Windows Phone users. :(

    Grabby Brakes?

Just a data point. I had the issue, did the TSB...basically went away for a number of months, now it's back.

Opening the charger port could be easier

Supposedly the 2013 addresses this issue : "Improved convenience of the charging port, including a locking mechanism for the normal charging connector, LED light for charging at night and electromagnetic opener for the charging port lid."...

    Capacity Loss on 2011-2012 LEAFs

I can't see 750 cycles...if you charge even every other day, that's only 4 years. The number of cycles is dependent on how far in DOD you go. I suppose if you run your battery to turtle everyday and charge it up, you'll get that kind of performance (2 years).

How to play music on a USB stick in the Leaf

Any USB stick should work fine (I have a 16GB one), just be sure it's formatted FAT32. I *hate* that it doesn't randomly go to the next song when you use the steering wheel controls - I consider this a bug.

    Capacity Loss on 2011-2012 LEAFs

There is no problem charging to 100% as long as it's not kept at that SOC for long (my post alluded to this based on how I charge my car). If you need the range, set up the "END" timer to right when you are going to leave in the morning - I doubt having the battery at > 80% for a couple hours...

    Capacity Loss on 2011-2012 LEAFs

    * We always charge to 100% (we drive it a lot, 17,000 miles in 14 months of driving). To me, this is not a lot of driving and I don't see a problem charging to 100%. In any case, I think the way the car is being charged has not been described (or I missed the post?). Maybe Azdre is letting her...

Green Charge app better than Nissan app

Mine was showing time until a complete charge, but later, I saw it showing range. I think it shows "until full" when charging and "range" when not. If the number is off, it more then likely it just needs to update. When my car was showing 45 miles, it was showing that as well.

Green Charge app better than Nissan app

[Edit] I'm not seeing range listed on this app anywhere. It shows the percentage of battery remaining (based on the 12 bars). The Nissan LEAF app will show range with/without CC.

Green Charge app better than Nissan app

I set my refresh to one hour. I wonder how it does the forest, co2, and cost savings? Is this thing really hooking into all of CarWings?

Green Charge app better than Nissan app

Just wanted to post that this app just went free.

Does a demo LEAF sold as NEW get the $7500 tax credit?

That works, just be aware of the costs in doing so (acquisition fees, buy fee, etc).

    NissanTech375 comes aboard

Or maybe the easiest solution is to just unplug the battery if you are going over 2 weeks (and do not plug it in). I guess if you will be gone a LONG time, someone should charge the car for a couple of hours a month, then unplug again. Traction battery loses about 1% a day, no?

    NissanTech375 comes aboard

Can anyone think of a way to test the 12V charge during a plugin short of putting a multi-meter with recording (or max hold) on the battery?

That $30K Car Bought In March Comes With A $15,000 Gas Bill!

While I agree with you, you do need to talk about the electricity cost of an EV. I know it pales in comparison, but it needs to be listed so that a skeptical person reading doesn't think that data is being hidden. I'll do a quick napkin calculation : 1000 miles a month @ 3.5miles/kwh (wall...
