    EVConnect "Connected Services" option disappears

Carlos on the chat says it's related to my 3G telematics unit. Don't know why the phone works but not the website, although my phone only gets the driving records through 6/8. Updated the charge state fine this morning, though. Guess this is what 3G death throes look like.

    EVConnect "Connected Services" option disappears

I'm able to see this information on my phone, but on the website I'm seeing exactly what you describe. When I first get to the dashboard page, "Connected Services" appears briefly then disappears. Can't click on it while it's there. The information in the app is much less detailed and not...

Leaf Spy and Leaf Spy Pro

I wish I had been paying more attention since it looks like I missed this feature addition 2 years ago, but Turbo3, thanks for adding the VSP controls! The "I'm-a-widdle-dump-truck!" alarm has been the only really annoying thing about Leaf ownership for me, and it is now blissfully gone!

I think my A/C compressor is dead

I think we may be getting optimistic with terminology here - it's a "service bulletin", but I don't know that there's actually a recall. Meaning I don't know if it's a free fix if the car is out of warranty. It absolutely makes it qualify as a warranty issue, but that horse has left the barn for...

I think my A/C compressor is dead

If it is the compressor, the following doesn't apply, but for what it's worth - I bought my '13 SV in March 2015, and the first time I started up the AC a couple months later, it was just hot air. I was still under full warranty so I didn't really care what part of the system it was, but it...

The official "I got my Leaf" thread

Congrats - sounds great, especially with full capacity at 22k. It was about a month before I got the L2 installed, and L1 was adequate, but I really appreciate being able to push in 20-25 miles of range per hour when it's at a low state of charge and I want to go somewhere relatively soon. Like...

The official "I got my Leaf" thread

After years of following the evolution of the EV market (including clicking around this forum from time to time), last month an opportunity arose that I couldn't pass up. I'd been looking for good deals on a '13 or '14, and occasionally something would turn up, but rarely within single-charge...

    12 V battery - why?

Lots of good info here - thanks. Does anyone know if there are non-Leaf EVs currently available that take a different approach to 12 V power?

    12 V battery - why?

Depends what you mean by "live". There's 400 V at the battery terminals all the time, right? How does a converter connected to those terminals introduce an unacceptable hazard?

    12 V battery - why?

Thanks for the replies. I guess I need to clarify what I wrote because it looks like you think I'm objecting to 12 V systems in the car. I'm objecting to a 12 V battery as the source of power for the 12 V systems due to unreliabilty and what seems to me to be unneded complexity. Wouldn't any of...

    12 V battery - why?

It seems that the 12 V battery is one of the major sources of problems in the Leaf, and even if it is never discharged unexpectedly, it still has to be replaced every few years. I'm puzzled as to why this nexus of failure modes and maintenance hassles is necessary at all. Why can't the 12-V...
