I have kind of the same problem in my 2018, but when I plug my iPhone up sometimes CarPlay just doesn't start at all (though the logo is on my phone). I've found that I have to wait until the LEAF's system has completely booted up before I plug in the phone, and then 9 times out of 10 it works...

Hi, everyone. Long time lurker, first time poster. I've been driving LEAFs for the last 3 years (2012 SL, 2013 S, and a 2015 SV), and just got my 2018 SV two weeks ago. I'm loving it! I've only put about 500 miles on it in so far, but that's more than I would have in any of my older LEAFs...
