This is the 13th Anniversary of picking up my 2011 LEAF. It’s still my daily driver, although I’m not putting on that many miles since retiring. I still have 11 bars on my replacement battery.
Unfortunately, PG&E has really jacked up rates, but it still has been a very affordable car to buy...
That has certainly been my experience. Even after 10 years, I don’t think the general public realizes how different the cost of ownership of EV’s versus ICE cars is. I expect the Tesla Semi to really be a big difference maker in that regard.
It’s my 10th anniversary of picking up my LEAF. It is still my daily driver. I have 81225 miles on it, and still have all the bars on the replacement battery. It’s been a better car than I could ever have imagined, and very inexpensive to own and operate.
Sorry, I didn’t know this was an IEEE conforming site.
So I probably added an ‘s’ to “orders of magnitude”
I haven’t owned and driven a car for 9 years since forever.
Every time I’m a passenger in an ICE I feel like I’ve taken a step back.
It also costs a lot of energy and money to...
I found my original delivery post. Today is my nine year anniversary of taking delivery. The replacement battery still has all its bars and it is still my daily driver. It’s been a great car and the cost per mile over its life is orders of magnitude cheaper than an ICE vehicle.
Well, today is my nine year anniversary. I don’t drive it nearly as much since I retired, but the replacement battery still has all its bars. It’s been a great car and awfully cheap to operate.
Congratulations on the 100k miles.
I am curious if there are any other 8 year+ owners still hanging around here. I passed my anniversary earlier this month. I have about 76k on the car, and it still has 12 bars on the second battery. I was lucky, and got in during the last month of...
My anniversary of delivery. I have 78k miles and it's going strong. i got lucky and slipped into the replacement battery just before Nissan decided to mess with other early adaptors and had an 80/20 cost share.
Given my luck with the battery replacement (and the seat extenders I bought...
A small sample size? Honestly, I'm glad Nissan has decided to step up a bit with the early adapters. I think 80/20 is reasonably fair, given the marketing campaign when it first was available. I'm happy that I can expect it to be my daily driver for several more years for that cost.
I need to...
I'm an official out of warranty 2011 LEAF owner who just picked up my car with a replacement battery. It's great to have the range back as I was down 5 bars. Nissan offered, and I accepted an 80/20 cost share.
My costs were:
Labor: $93.04
Parts: $1395.00
Tax $129.04...
On Aug 23, 2017, with 70.8K miles, I'm back to 12 bars after getting an out of warranty battery replacement. Nissan offered a 80/20 cost share so my out of pocket was $1617.08. I'm satisfied with the deal and very happy to get my range back to what it once was.
