I started this post last year when it became evident my 2016 battery was losing its capacity. Since then I went to 4 bars in March with 31K miles on the car. The dealer offially checked it out, ordered a new battery and I just picked it up with the new battery. My cost was 0$. Nice. The...
When I changed to the 2016 Leaf, I thought a 30 kWh leaf would be able to handle a 75 mile Roundtrip daily commute. It had an advertised range of 107 miles. I based this on having a Chevy Volt for 3 years. It reliably provided 35 to 38 miles of range every day before the engine turned on. (10...
Ive only had LeafSpy for a short time and dropped from SOH of 67% to 66% in 340 miles. Trying to extrapolate when i cross 60% at this point would have a significant error. Assuming a few things like its a linear trend and the quality of these two data points is good, I could be at SOH of <60%...
I live in Birmingham Alabama so it does get warm but not extreme. In fact, the two summers I’ve had the vehicle, the summers have been on the mild side. Limited days above 95 and none above 100. Am worried about the winter and decreased range coming up. I barely make the round trip to work now.
Big thanks Cwerdna. You gave me the thread with the issue I’m having with my 30 kWh battery pack. The key info is below. My question know is at what point has the battery degraded to the point of needing replacement?
2016 SV with build date of 10/2015
Fully charged, LeafSpy says 19.1kWh...
Looks like I have a 30KWh pack that’s losing capacity also. What point do you have to reach before the warranty kicks in?
2016 SV with build date of 10/2015
Fully charged, LeafSpy says 19.1kWh capacity. Significantly below name plate of 30 kWh. (Understand it was never 30 kWh but suspect is...
I have my Leaf Spy working today. It was really easy to get working. My hats off to the developer. They did a great job.
I now have to start collecting data. My first screen copies I cant figure out how to post and reading the FYIs, looks like I will need to get permissions. Anyway, the...
I haven’t lost any capacity bars on my display. I’ve been making the same drive since I bought the car new 19 months ago and ~90% of the time have the LBW (first alarm ) and depending on my driving style, traffic and temp if I get the VLBW (second alarm) (~50%). I’ve never questioned the overall...
I’ve been driving EVs for 5 years and had my most recent Leaf for 2. I understand the miles remaining is very inaccurate but suspect the percent remaing isn’t either. I rountinely Drive 75 miles a day to and from work and get the second low battery alarm and blank screen for miles or battery...
